AutoCross hints or tricks?

Im (hopefully) going to my first autocross event this upcoming sunday. Do yall ahve any hints or tips thatll help?

That's not true, I encourage you to hit the cones (just please use plenty of painters tape to cover the corners and before rear wheels), it means you're pushing it and exploring the limits of the car. Get a run in to learn the track (although you should have a general driving line going into it from walking the course multiple times) then push harder after that, you'll learn where you can push it more and where you need to go easier. It's your first event so you probably won't be winning anything so just have fun and it'll give you a taste if you want to continue.
