Beaverun Time Trial May 21, North Track

As stated there will be a TT on the North Track on May 21. Details such as price are not set in stone yet, but it will be less than a flat out day. This is being run as an SCCA Level 2 TT, so only a Snell SA helmet and your car is required. No rollbar required (in street cars).

Basically, if you have any track experience, you will be permitted to enter, it is likely an instructor there will be needing to sign anyone with limited experience off before running solo timed runs. There will be different groups according to experience level. If you have any specific questions please email me at markaubele at hotmail dot com, as I do not get to check the forums all that often, but I will check every so often, so if you are patient, post away.

If you have run a track day before, enter. This is going to be an awesome event.

Ah ok, thank you. I'd head to the north hills event this weekend but the car isn't ready.

I think they actually start running at around 10:30 am or so. Registration closes at 9:30 or so. I will be sliding around on R6's in 45 degree weather.

Do you mean the TT? Or autocrosses? The TT is on our schedule, can't speak for BRs website.

Steel Cities Region of the SCCA

Note, April 9 is cancelled. May 21 is still on. Autocross schedule on that site as well.

Big track for first timers. Do you guys cone off track out or turn in to narrow the track or add chicanes?

No. You have to at a minimum have run a TT at the smaller course there (the Wilson Circut) or have been signed off to be solo at a track day. Basically you have to know your way around a road course. Entrants will be judged on a case by case basis.

The TTs at the Wilson Circut you can run though. First timers welcome.

No, absolutely not. I didn't mean to be cryptic, but this is not an event for guys that have never been on a track. Guys that have run at BR and got signed off to run solo (Group 3?) are probably going to be allowed to run, but certainly not just anyone that has never been on a track. They are really pushing it to people that have done events on the Wilson circut, or the Hillclimb community we have in PA.

Also realize the tolerance for typical HPDE behavior (not allowing people to pass, being in general an idiot, not having situational awareness) will not be tolerated. This is not a track day. That being said, I hope to see some of you there!

Good deal! Sorry, can't make it. I'd only go to BR for a 2 day event anyways. It's a long trek from here, and we're having our first baby later this month. Don't think I'll be getting much of anywhere for the next few months!

No, don't think you will be!

Talked with the TT director today, price is going to be $125 for the event.

Not getting into details, but the TT at BR is no longer under our club's control, the EMRA is now holding a race/TT the weekend on May 21-22. Information at the link below...

MotorsportReg.com : EMRA - Eastern Motor Racing Assoc. announces EMRA Time Trials at BeaveRun (Sat 21 - Sun 22 May, 2011) info at BeaveRun Motorsports Park, Wampum, PA 16157 (2720)

Just glad to see we are still having a TT, although under somewhat differing circumstances.

For $200 + license fee I'm out. Just got laid off, so I'm pinching pennies. Sucks too cause I'm looking for any and all seat time I can get up there and at Nelson. I thought $125 was pretty reasonable for a time trial, but at $200 I can pay less for a full track day and a lot more seat time. I'd feel a lot better if the money were going SCR's way.

Yes they are, and I hope to be able to support them, any org bringing TTs to the region are welcome. Just some things went down with BR that I am kind of annoyed about. Long story short, we found out our TT wasn't happening by reading about EMRA's TT in ******* GRM. Kind of a shitty situation.

I would pay $200 for a TT any day over a Flat out day. 200 is actually pretty cheap. But there is a Track Day at Nelson's on June 12 for $100, that may be a better option. Better track IMO anyway.
