building / ECU TUNING race car
I have a 2006 Cobalt 2.2 L, I am building it in to an oval track race car. I would like to do some tuning to the car unfortunately we can't do any internal work. I am looking for recommendations to help gain more hp / torque.
I would like to update to a lighter flywheel, and a ZZP header and a air intake system and possible add a 2.4 L intake and Throttle body with injectors. I am not sure if this will work? Will I need to tune the PCM? I was told the 2005 and 2006 models this cant be done? is this true? I was told this can be done in the 2007 models and up. If this is the case, I did find a 2007 cobalt with a 2.2L, where I could pull the engine, tranny, wiring harness, gauge cluster, PCM,and the BCM and put it in the 2006. should this technically work? The junk yard wont let me buy the whole car if you are thinking that.
Any other ideas, I would like to hear them.
Thanks
