Ginger Jesus has blessed the AutoX World
As some of you know I have started doing autox for fun, jdbaugh1 convinced me I should start a thread and start posting my dash cam vids. Im not going super competitive or anything like most of yall are, hell I'll probably run my beater ' MERICA cavalier from time to time to let the ss rest. I wanna have fun but not tear up the ss too much. Locally we have a autox that is once a month from around march to November so ill be posting vids as I get them edited and figure out the best way to post them here (input is very appreciated on how to do that).

Like Prof said youtube is the easiest/effective route for hosting IMO. You can post your videos as public or unlisted and then post the link here. If public your videos are open for the world to see but if you go unlisted the video can only be accessed by those with the link. I'm sure you don't care about people finding your videos just thought I would run that by you. Thanks for sharing!

Nope. Just as long as your upload speed isn't atrocious, you should be good.
To be fair, when rendering your videos, export them out as MP4. You get great quality, but the file size stay relatively low.

Here is the dash cam from my first event, placed second in fwd on my third run. Sucks the storm cut it short that day. Course was short and tight this time due to the normal track setter was out sick and they were two hours late starting setup due to a drag race wreck the night before.

Im not sure, what is scca? lol this last week was a lot longer and more open course that used the full 1/8 mile strip. Im still working on editing the dash cam, I used my 360 cam on the dash as well this time but I got to figure out how to edit that since the camera was sideways on the windshield. Profdns you have any ideas on a program that will edit and rotate a 360video?

I don't have a go pro, using a ~$50 dash cam I got at Dirt Cheap for 15 bucks and a Samsung gear 360 that I got for free back when I preordered my note 8 last year. I would love some gopros but I aint got that kinda money.

Some guys use the Gear 360 for autocross as it helps them see any cones they knock down. Quality isn't as good but hey, it's way cheaper than a GoPro since you have it already

I stuck mine to the windshield on sundays event sideways, didn't know it wouldn't auto correct for it so all the vids are sideways. I tried attaching it to the roof before the event started but it fell off within about 20 min before I started my first run. Next time im going to clean the sunroof really good, hopefully it will stay, and try to get a good angle of everything.

Here is the runs from this past sunday, a lot better and longer course than last time. Missed two turns on the second run, ignore the cone smack on the 5th run. A guy running a tracked out 90's 1500 chevy obliterated the cones before my run and that one wasn't supposed to be there so actually that run was clean and I think my fastest. Me and my buddy were laughing bc when I was trying to stop so quick I forgot to hit the clutch and she shut off.
Placed third this time in fwd, I could have def made up time on the drag strip portion not braking so early. It was getting slicker after each go with the dirt getting tracked up on the strip.

Love the cute trophies everyone got. Third wasn't too bad, just barely lost to a much more seasoned guy running a mazdaspeed 3 by just .3 sec. First placer killed us both by almost 5 seconds though running a heavily modified Fiesta. Proud of myself that I convinced my fiancé to ride on the first and third run. She had a good time so hopefully she'll come out to more in the future with me. Poor guy who was starting our runs got both shoes ripped off by the track and was stuck leaning against this car for a couple min trying to get his shoes unstuck.

We finally had our local autox this sunday. Last two attempts were canceled one due to lot blacktop damaged from winter and the second due to lighting near the track. I ended up getting 4th out of 6 if I remember the times correctly. I know that between the 6 of us the fastest to slowest time was only 1.5sec difference so it was really close. Gonna try and upload the vids by buddy got with my phone. Dashcam died at the last event in November and haven't got a new one yet. Any advice to a affordable one welcome. Not opposed to a go pro if someone has a used one for a very affordable price, cant really afford to go out and get a new one. Im gonna have to get some tires though, I know I could have done a lot better if I could have gotten some more grip.

Also I'm gonna have to get a different seat, the ss one is a lil too small and the foam is starting to breakdown on the left bolster from the hard corners shoving my hip bone into it. Its also letting me move around too much, ended up breaking the weld tabs for the leather section on my door panel when my leg hit it on one turn when I slid out of the seat slightly. Got a guy I know that has a old (I think he said corbeau) racing seat that needs recovering. May look into buying it from him and grabbing a junkyard seat frame so I can mount it in the stock location in the ss. That'll save the stock seat for when I stop racing the car one day and hopefully it holds me better so I don't slide and break the panel again.

Toyo proxes 4plus uhp all seasons. The work great and grip really well for fall and early spring when we race during temps of 40-60* when everyone else's summer tires are not hooking but lack traction when its hot. It was mid 80's yesterday even with the overcast.
