I agree colodude is doing a great job and the results will be interesting to witness. I didn't mean to get people distracted asking if anyone had measurable results from alternative heat extraction methods. Real data/results are much more valuable than generalizations from internet know it alls.

Related. Sorta.
Also friend has a '76 Camaro that had a stock hood with a hole someone cut for a filter. He swapped it out for a 2 inch cowl and did achieve lower water temps. Especially at low speeds/ cruising. At idle you can see all the extra heat leaving through the cowl. But like others have said. It's for induction of air not exhaust.

No... I'm saying your using language 2 degrees above your education level... They're hood vents for God's sake. You debate the simplest **** yet constantly say it doesn't matter, I don't care, I don't know, who cares....
According to JD... It takes a person with 3 engineering degrees to install hood vents.

Here is a video showing empirical evidence of air extraction via hood louvers on a BRZ.
Would be cool to see similar experiments on Cobalt. Based on everything I have seen so far it seems air would flow into the engine bay instead of out if the cowl is removed or if the hood hinges were spaced up. I still think it would make a worthwhile experiment.

I dont think you did sir. I think you knew EXACTLY what you were doing. Dont try to play dumb. I have a doctorate from University of Phoenix and another doctorate from MIT. ok
