Roadrace lap video

I did some road racing over the weekend and thought I would like to share a lap run. The footage might be a bit shaky, but the camera man did his best

It was tons fun. This particular track was full of turns and the brakes took plently of abuse but held up generally well.

Sergeo Next time you're on a road course , try to do all braking before the apex of the turn and roll on the throttle earlier. This would allow you to get on that Hondas ass and hopefully get a wave by. If you have the chance to do a track day with instructors , take advantage of it. You would't belive how much faster you get in a weekend. (NASA)

Yes, the car seemed to really push at the speeds I was entering the corners so I could not apply much power at all. I definately improved my times by the end of the day and was running 3 seconds faster than him

A little background on the red civic: It's completely stripped, weighing in at 2200lb. He also had suspension work and a decent set of shoes. The driver is also an experienced autocrosser and has been to this track before. He gave her hell, and pulled out some impressive times for 100hp!

It's about balance, when we apply brakes we transfer weight to the front making the rear light and visa versa. When I was at Putnam Park my instructor had me roll on the gas when I started pushing and the car pulled st. through the turn. This isn't the easiest thing to do when your brain is telling you no but having someone in the pass. seat telling you go helps. I guess it's just a matter of experence. You should come down to the midwest and run a NASA track day .

He wouldn't go by the name G would he? That track has improve since the last time I was there about years ago and my car and it's brakes enjoyed it more(I was there a month ago) and they changed a couple of the corners so they weren't brake killers.

Nope, wasn't him.

As for the track they removed Chicane from the Front straight and removed Dagmar Curves and used Lens instead. So yeah, with those two changes it was much easier on the brakes.

Well that chicane was never a real concern before they added ashphalt to it but the other spots like Multimatic and the new part called Lens help a bunch. What was the Civic drivers name?
