Thinking about doing autocross...

So I've been doing a lot of research and autocross looks like a really sweet thing to check out. I live in Las Vegas... I don't think I've seen any LVR SCCA members on here, but hopefully someone can answer my question. Now I am 17...legally a minor still... under SCCA regulations, am I allowed to participate as a driver in autocross?

I have skimmed through some of the rule books but I haven't found anything specific on age. I'm assuming that I'll need to get some type of waiver signed by my parents but hopefully someone can let me know about it.

I know you are required to have a valid drivers license, so if you have a permit your screwed.

Not an issue. I do have a license and have had it for about a year and a half. Thanks for the reply!

under 18 i think you need a waiver signed by your parents, and they have to attend.

Yes, you need the Minor waiver... and I think both parents have to sign ( unless one doesn't live there ).

It's a one time thing for the season, but you must have it wih you each time you go unti you're 18.

If you want, contact your local SCCA chapter and talk to their Membership chairperson. They will be happy ( or should be... ) to help.
