Donkeyballs BYT EFR Build
Ill start this thread with what everyone wants to know: NO, this is not a direct bolt-on to the stock manifold. If that's what you are after then you will have to keep waiting for the ZZP EFR.
What ours includes:
Some note worthy features:
My impressions of our kit:
When you pop the hood it looks like nothing is done! In fact, you have to really look to see if it's even a turbo car (if you don't know anything about the SS/TC's that is). That part of it I love! All of the other cars we have made Turbo Kits for in the past were the same way. So, that was our main goal when making this kit. The CP from the turbo to the FMIC (what we would normally call Upper CP) is routed under the engine and is NOT the lowest point on the car. Donkeyballs' car is quite low and we have yet to hit that pipe on anything!
First startup with the kit on, you can hear an immediate difference in the exhaust note. It sounds much deeper then stock and just plain sounds sick when WOT! With the base map loaded we took the car out for a first drive. I was expecting a little bit of lag but in reality it drives very similar to stock, VERY responsive at any RPM in any gear! In fact, the spool-up is almost identical making the car great for around town or Daily Driving. When you look at the Dyno Graphs posted below you will see it performs very similar to the stock turbo low end Torque wise. The big difference is the additional 70-80 whp up top. The car pulls hard right away and doesn't quit until you shift!
Last night we took the car to the dyno to run the new kit. I was feeling like it was around 380whp on the butt dyno. Sure enough, the first pull it did 390whp at 24psi. We tried several scenarios on the dyno, all netting similar results. Little more boost, the car knocked up top with similar to stock peak timing. Dropped it down just a tiny bit and tried a little more timing, similar results. The best run of the night it popped off a coupler mid pull You will see in the graph it was on it's way to being the best run of the night. All of the pulls were between 380-400whp and 380-400wtq as well. He is only running Pump Gas for right now, and without Meth. So as we kept adjusting the car we saw immediately this was a limiting factor. Donkey also needed his car back and we decided to just leave it there and play is safe for now. The plan is to meet up and try a E Blend after he drives and enjoys it for a little bit. We have another car sitting here to install a kit on a LSJ and then another LNF right behind it. So, we will have more results with different setups very soon!
Onto the pics:

There is a bracket on the bottom that attaches to the trans housing to keep everything in place and not hit. So far so good, haven't seen a mark on the pipe!
Jason just said he's coming to get it, Im sure he'll put up some more vids of it
There's def room to make more power on this setup. It's on the conservative side for sure as it sits but not at all a slouch!

Thanks Aaron, was a long time coming now! Jason def wanted/needed his car back but we wanted to make sure it was 100% up to par before his long trek back home. Not to mention, then 6hrs away with the car if something came up. I think once he drives it, he'll agree it was worth the wait. It really runs just flawless, the power is soooo smoooth.
Ive been talking with my other guys here and we may do a cheaper version that will adapt to other CP's and intakes. The manifold and DP will be a must tho, this DP is pretty tough to fit in there lol! Once we move to the new building we plan to do the GB on the CAI/SRI's and then possibly a "budget" version of this kit.
Im also toying with the idea of fabbing up one with a 7064 to test out with our Ported Head we're working on Time will tell. Right now our plate is full, so that stuff needs to get completed first thing!
