Final tire decisions...
I will be placing my tire order very shortly, to those that PM'd me or called me I need you to get a hold of me this weekend as I'll be placing this order middle of next week. I can get any tire that you need. The packages are as follows so far....
16" steels mounted with Dunlop M3's taxes in $942.
16" steels mounted with Blizzak Revo 1's $1003.
These are cash deals and so far I have an order for 3 complete sets and 2 sets of steels. THe rims are going to be in stock next week and I need to know who wants in because these rims are hard to get right now. I will not chase anyone around and if I place my order and you miss out then you are SOL. This is for Southern Ontario only, no shipping out of province, sorry people but this is not an official GP and since I am getting winter wheels I am doing the ones I have met at meets a favor. If you have my # call me and if you don't PM and I'll give it to you. All cash needs to be paid up front or you can meet up with me and we can grab everything in one shot.

Have you got confirmation that the M3 are available ???...I'm getting a hard time getting my hands on them in montreal.
Can you tell me were your getting them from? I'd like to give the place to my garage so they can try an order form them or from there source.
thanks

I've had the X-ice - Great Ice tire I must admit, but sucks in snow.
Try Mark Reid at Mews in Ottawa 613-834-9102. He can have them (here) in 3 days. Not sure where he gets them from. His price is $166 but that's installed...
I've got the Blizzak M25's coming (not from that guy) with rims at $1200 - why wouldn't you guys want to pay a couple hundred bucks more for a winter performance tire than the Revo's for $1000 ? I don't get it!

Totally up to you!
It was good on ice (as good as tires CAN be, ice IS ice!) but I'm telling you it sucks as a snow tire. Doesn't cut the snow on corners well at all, just crappy. I would never buy them again. I wouldn't even use them for free - no ****. I had Blizzaks before that and will forever stick with them. However, do your research on the Blizzaks, only two of them are performance winters (the LM-25 and the LM-22) the Revos are a good buy if your in a lot of snow and don't care too much about handling in wet/dry conditions for winter, but if you do, buy the performance. What's another $200-$300 over the four years you'll enjoy them? I dunno, it's just me, I want peace of mind with an excellent snow tire, and the added benefit of good traction on wet/dry is a bonus worth paying for - but that's me!
Also, depends on your weather conditions. Here in Ottawa, 1/2 the winter is light snow/slush/crap, 1/4 heavy snow, and 1/4 dry pretty much, so those are the factors I base my decision on.

Glad I could be of assistance
I am getting my tires on Tues (the LM-25's) and picked up my rims today. Nothing like peace of mind in a snow storm or rainy winter night. I don't care how much it costs me, I want peace of mind. And, I figure, you'r spending good money on that car, and your car is only as good as the tires you put on it (in my opinion!) And I want to know I can still grab the corners even in winter - reduced speed of course (lol)
It's amazing how you just don't see any SS/SC here in Ottawa. I went out Friday night and got back to the parking lot to see a nice black SS parked right beside mine, wondering how "he" felt seeing my SC - knowing it belonged to a woman!!!!!! Bet THAT sucked! Mind you, we can't all be as lucky!

Well the only tires available in 205/60-16 with an H code or better are the Michelin Alpin PA2...coudn't get my hand on the M3 or any thing else...well it SUCKS...but apparently all the wholsalers or distributers are out of that size...and i don't have time to phone every retailers...so Alpin it will be...they are well rated at tire rack ...
Katman...
Why don't you order the M3's from Ottawa and just drive down and pick them up? He'll have them in 3 days! Or, you can use 205/55/16 just as well, and get the LM-25 performance tire. Don't settle for Alpin - they're so basic!

SSBlondie,
I wish I had the time....but with 55 hours workweek and my wife in the hospital...I don't ahve much time for that kind of 'detour'.
I'm tring one last thing with Goodyear GW3...I had good experience with goodyear in the past (I used to to put Eagle GT+4 on my 1992 Beretta GTZ and never had any problem in any winter situations)...
