Winter Tire Group purchase

OK guy's as some of you already know, I'm organizing a group purchase for Winter tires and rims for SS S/C, because lets face it these tires aren't going to cut it for the winter.

Ok so my guy is still looking for the cheapest price on the steels. so far we're looking at $85 per Rim, which is already better then the $95 last month but things are supposed to get cheaper by September, so keep your fingers crossed.

now for the tires there will be two choices.

Dunlop WinterSport M3's ( best performance winter on the market )
Brigstone Winter Force ( Basic winter tire non performance Huge difference in ride and handling)

these Prices are for the tire and installation.

M3's $140 each
Winter Force $110 each

total for all 4 tires
M3
4x 140
4x 85 (worst case)
$ 900cnd

W.F.
4x 110
4x 85
$ 780cnd

so if any one is interested please put your name on the list, and feel free to ask questions or make suggestions. and please only place your name if your seriously want to purchase.
thanks.

are they 215/60-16 or 225/50-17, and when would you be shipping/collecting $?
I just noticed your prices are in $CAN, now the $95 for the wheels makes a bit more sense, I was like TireRack has them for $65us for 16", and do 16s even fit the SS?

the best size dor the dunlop Winter Sport m3 where 205/60/16. and for the SS 16 is as small as you could put on.

this thread was mainly ment to Cobalts in the Ontario, I guess I did'nt specify, but if anyone else is interested I'd be happy to help aswell. only thing is that I don't know if it would be worth it for some people, because of shipping and Duty charges.

I would like to have a far good Idea of how many people want tires by about mid september, It will take awhile to order lots of tires.

as far as paying I won't have to pay until pick up,
I'm open for Options for payment methods as well. ( I'm not trying to make any money off of this) I just know that the more people we get to buy the cheaper it will get and I'll end up saveing money just like everyone else.

Great initiative. Don't need any right now since I'll be driving the beast this winter. See you soon. Finally you'll have another Arrival Blue SS/SC to park beside this time at the next meet!!

I just might be interested. Though I'm not sure about the tire selection. Any other tires that are good quality for less? Keep us posted on the prices, etc. Thanks bro.

didn't think about the duty, I'm actually not far from Toronto, but the charges to get them across tho border would probably make it not worth it. At least I know what will fit, as I trust you did research carefully.

yah I knew what I was going to buy berfore I even got my car.

as far as priceses go, the Dunlop M3's are cheaper then it's next two highest competeters. not only are they the best winter tires, but there even better value.

( Bredick ) I'm not sure how close you are, but have you considered driveing over?
just a thought, I haven't done much research in American prices.

It's a thought, but with my luck customs would see them and I'd end up having to pay duty charges on them, otherwise with the exchange rate I think it would be a better deal. Although, if I got them installed and came back I wonder if they'd question stock tires and wheels in rather than on the car, hmmm. I'll have to look into it.

I'd be interested depending on where I'd have to pick them up. Also, any idea of how low the car will be with 16"? I just don't want my ground effects turning into a snow plow

you could always tell them that you used the stock tires for raceing on a track up here LOL

Frenstall- the Winter tires will not lower your car because the larger wheel wall will offset the smaller rim. ( basicaly your car is at the same hight), I live in brampton 1/2 west of Toronto

Does anyone have an idea how much it would cost to ship those to Calgary, or is anyone able to arrange the same type of group purchase in Calgary?

Doesn't look like it has been specifically said but, what size of tires and rims are they, 16", 17" or 18"? As well, are the rims painted black or silver steel rims. I'd definately want black. I assume they are black.
