Just got the GM sport compact build book

Man the stuff GM has for building the ecotec is amazing!. They have sections for stock to 250HP, 250HP to 400HP, 400HP to 600HP, 600HP to 1000HP, 1000HP to 1400HP, and all the parts you need for those mods plus part numbers. So many stock parts can be used in building big HP. So far the coolest thing i have read is for us SS owners is in the 400 to 600HP build section for the 2.2 where they recommend and i qoute "For improved durability it is recoomended to upgrade to the production supercharger 2.0L (LSJ) valves or, Ferrea intake and exhaust valves" Another good one, "For instance, when building an ECOTEC engine to the 400HP power level, no modifications to the cylinder head, block, main gridle or crankshaft are required".

Same with me...if the Cobalt hadn't come out when I did I would have most likely been driving an RSX or Mazda 3 right now (both of which I still consider excellent vehicles I just wanted to stick with Chevy). Thanks god I waited as long as I did! I've considered picking up the build book myself as well as attempting to order a service manual. Even if I don't use them to their full potential it's still good reference material to have on hand .

I'm not sure if this is the one he ordered or not but I think you can either order it directly through GMP or through the service department at your dealer.
