Ya there was someone else in the car...you were parked at the front door when I drove up Adelaide and someone got out of the car anyways . I'm like you all over the city...I can't seem to stay out of the car!

Well considering most people go in for a test drive and baby the car to no end not to mention I'm sure they don't get a lot of females taking out a standard let alone the SS you probably gave him the surprise of a lifetime .

Maybe if we all went to different places we could put together a list of prices under this thread to give people an idea of what the best place might be to go to. I'm going to be looking at 16" steelies and the Michelin X-Ice but I could put together price lists for other tires while I'm out as well.

I am interested but would I have to drive to Toronto? That might be a problem.

Crap...just saw a silver Cobalt coupe (couldn't get close enough to see model) on the way home with tinted windows but thank god no spoiler (or the rim upgrade as far as I could tell). Guess it's just about time for me to think of what to do to the car next .

If anyone is interested I followed up with McMaster Chev on winter tires. A set of X-ICE will be a $990 with tax and rims all installed, lowest model tires come to about $740. The rims they have are on for $65per so it is a pretty good deal. I have to read the ratings on the tires but I will prolly get a set from McMaster unless anyone knows of a better deal.

I noticed those when I took my car in the other morning and the price sounded about right. They are definitely a really soft rubber but I'm sure they'd give some nice grip in the winter and were the ones I was originally looking at in the first place. I'll have to see if they would install them at a later date though since I won't be putting them on until the absolute last minute...don't think that rubber would hold up too well on bare pavement .

Ya that was me...I saw a red SS coming and watched you go through the intersection and thought "Yep going through an intersection every single time" . I was actually on my way to Costco for a last ditch effort (I musta hit every store in London, started at 5:30am) to get a hold of a 360 premium which believe it or not I actually did, 5th in the line for the 8 available! It's going to be interesting trying to find a second one now...maybe I'll get as lucky again the second time around as I did the first.

I figured you'd see the winter rims and know it was me...you can see those eyesores from a block away...god I can't wait for spring to put my rims back on. I'd recommend you study your car every day before you put them on because the initial shock when you pick up your car with steels on is almost enough to kill you!

I hear you ....I went and took some photos so I can look at them all winter ... I should have the steelies on later this week ...

I didnt even try my Pirellies in this kind of snow on .I left the SS in the garage today and took the Subaru ..as much as winter sucks when you toss around that car in the snow it allmost makes up for it ... next to fast acceleration there is nothing more exciting than snow and a little rally inspired driving ..

tomorrow looks like its going to be worse than today but I may not have the Subaru option

That's about the only thing I look forward to every single winter...nothing like finding a big empty parking lot and ripping it around a few times just to get it outta your system. I keep telling myself I won't do it to the Cobalt like I did to my Cavy but I know sooner or later the urge is going to get to me and I'll be right back at it like a little kid.

Hopefully the weather report is off and we don't get the amount of snow we're expecting, I bet the SS will be a handful with the P's on in even the slightest bit of snow let alone the 15cm+ they're calling for this evening. I'm not looking forward to the traffic either...people are dumb enough when it's dry, the first snowfall is even worse.

also shitty is the fact that I will have to deal with the snow with the summer tires and then when I get the winters its warm and rainy ..
