Unsold Cobalt SS1 Coming to Ontario

I was searching the GMCANADA.COM website and it said there is a black 2005 Cobalt SS1 (the supercharged cobalt is now called the SS1 in Canada to not have people confuse it with the upcoming SS) with red leather inserts in transit to Ontario, and its available. I just called my dealership to confirm this and he said indeed it was just put into his system.

This car is not the colour I want, and it had Onstar and Sideair bags which I don't want either (more weight makes for a slower car).

But the good news is they are starting to come to Canada and not all are sold. Now the day I see an unsold blue one with my options roll into Ontario......

I completely agree with you about not having the Side Impact Air Bags and Onstar. Unfortunately, Onstar doesn't work in the UK for us, so there's no need to have it. Side Impact Air Bags as you've said will just make the car heavier (by how much I wonder?). My dealer and I argued over the sunroof issue for the same reason...

I wonder if they're going to call our SS/SC's anything different?

Yeah, even my dealer didn't know where it was being delivered. It just says in transit. And I know of a Large Toronto based dealer that is getting 5 SS1 (sounds so weird) and only one is spoken for. There are 4 black ones, and one orange. So some of those cars should start to appear online if this car isn't one of them already

The thing that pisses me off is that my PRE-SOLD Cobalt is pushed back to June while these un sold cars are starting to roll in

this is my thought

people on the board said that there is SS/SCs allocated to each dealership so, obviously those ones wont be sold but will be available to be purchased.

everyone else preordered theirs so they will get one

so that leaves the ones on the lot not sold

meaning theres a very good chance we can drive one and buy the same day!

GM's website doesn't list as a SC1, just the actual internal GM tracking software at the dealership is.
But if you go to www.gmcanada.com and click on Chevrolet, then click on cobalt, then click on find cobalt, enter this postal code M5G 2C2, you can see them

A Red SS/SC is now available too, they are increasing by the day. I just need to wait for a blue one with my options to show up and I am set!

Interior Colour: Ebony With Red Inserts

Ss S/c Popping Up All Over Ontario

So someone posted in another thread that they tested a Black SS S/C in the St Catharines area, and I myself have a good inside shot of getting a SS S/C as soon as next week.

Why is GM delivering all of these un sold SS S/C's first before making our pre-sold cars??????

Anyway, the car I might get is red instead of blue (not a big deal) and missing the sunroof (again not a big deal, less weight right?)

maybe the dealer can send it out to get one then i can have a SS quick!

Yeah, a lot of the sunroof cars seem to not be showing up....the lady at the dealership
said they had to delete their sunroof to get the car earlier.

Yo MikeSS those 4 cars have been in the system for a couple days now and they show up on mulitple dealerships. At first i thought that every dealer was getting 4 each but i compared the VIN and they are the same cars. So seems like every dealer in ontario is supposed to share those 4. I have no clue whats going but i want my car!!!

If it is at the dealership you are checking it will be under the heading....

" Your closest Dealer may have the following XX vehicles available."

Underneath that it will say....

"The following vehicles may also be available to your closest Dealer."

Which is just telling you what vehicles are presently in your area (province, I think), at other dealerships.

Yuove gotta remember though that if u ordered one, for the most part, theyve got you sold. Its the people that are still deciding that GM Really wants to see the SS.

Yeah, what the next guy said. One of those 4 is to Don Howson (tried to quote me $30 000 for a base SS S/C with no options on a lease (it is $26045 retail) ) and one is in Milton.

Not sure, all I know is that where I am buying my car, it is about $385 a month with no downpayment, and $315 with downpayment option 1 and $283 with downpayment option #2.

At Howson it was $503, $422, and $328 for the same downpayments....thanks, but I'll wait for my car to come (plus it has a sunroof (more expensive car to begin with) and the colour I want.

will dealerships "trade" around cars?

meaning, if i walked into shaganappi and wanted a blue with sunroof, will they call say, vancouver and trade their non sunroof one for a sunroof one? just to make the purchase?

or will they order it from the plant and have it shipped?

Dealerships will trade cars within a reasonable distance. My dad helps drive dealer traded vehicles aroud for the dealership I am buying my car (pretty sweet job for a rertired guy).

However, the Cobalt SS S/C will not be traded I am thinking for the 2005 model year for 2 reasons.
1. The dealership can get full price at least for the car and since there is only a few dealerships getting the cars they will be in high demand.
2. These Cobalts are being used a selling tool to get people to buy 2006 Cobalt SS S/C's as well. It will be interesting to see how many of this first batch of cars actually end up in a customers hands in the near future. I am sure many dealerships will sell the cars, or claim they are sold, but I wonder how many get delivered anytime soon.

milton dealership

Hey, i talked to the dealership in Milon on Saturday (the owner). The black SS/SC they got in on thursday is already sold, a couple from Chatham drove up to buy it. He said he believes there are 2 on a dealership lot in either Brampton or Brantford, not sure which, or whether they are sold or not. He also said that they are going to start building more customer orders as they are getting backlogged with orders and not build so much of the unsold orders for dealerships. Don't know how true it is, but if anyone is heading to Milton to check it out u can't take it for a test drive, i asked on Sat.
