Manitoba SS 2013
Also I want to do intake before I tune so I don't have to bother with re tuning right again.
I'm also not 100% sure how the tuning process works and who would actually be tuning my car. Just seems risky.

(in no particular order)
1) GMS1 / upgraded MAP sensors*
2) aftermarket downpipe
3) aftermarket tune.
I did it in the above order, then again I had GMS1 when I still had my bumper to bumper warantee...
I used warantee on the top end not once, but twice before 40,000km - so my approach was justified.
* = you can now buy MAPs by themself, and but the plug & play connectors from CED - and as of recently ZZP started offering them (but they're CED parts);
Some argue that you don't need the upgraded MAPs, but in that same breath, it seems that people running a 21+psi tune on stock MAPs are prone to blowing through MAPs.
The big downside to changing MAPs is the car needs to be tuned for them - if you change MAPs and see boost without a revised tune, your car will go in limp mode...
From my recollection:
- Going stock to GMS1 was huge(!);
- Going GMS1 to GMS1+downpipe was almost a huge of a difference;
- Going GMS1+catlessDP to GMS1+catlessDP+Trifecta was again, almost as huge!
Listen to Dustin, save your shifter money for something else
(Unless of course you're more into looks items ect than going fast - which isn't my bag, but I can wholly understand & appreciate it.)
Oh, and the K&N SRI (the last "new" intake offered for our cars) does not need to be tuned for... just saying.

Oh, and IMHO, you should never use a tune as a band-aid fix for problems your car has;
I was intentional about tuning last, partially because it forced me to make sure what I had done was all functioning (ect) correctly - and my car wasn't throwing any codes.
Regarding the 'infiniboost' (Trifecta) tune, it hasn't been offered for quite some time - I believe it stopped being offered because it wasn't what Vince ended up deeming as "safe"...
I can't wait to see your car reborn!!

Maybe something is broken, and you just need to R&R stock parts for it to be right again?
ha!!
