Good part out on kijiji. The LSD trans would be a nice upgrade while my car is apart but he's high thinking its worth $1300.

Thats Steve(has a G5/GT Sedan with SS lip, SS recaros, and soon to be an M62 and Brembos). He is asking a lot for certain parts, but after he sees how very little interest he'll get in the trans(at that price especially) I can see the price being dropped a lot. If its anything like my trans he will get a ton of tire kickers but most of the people willing to cough up serious cash for one are likely in the states and I dont think he realizes how much that will cost to ship.

 

Too bad it's going to take him all summer to realize it's worth less than half that. Would be a nice upgrade to my Balt.

It's got higher k on it so I would pay $400 for it. Offering $900 less than asking price would be a little slap in the face lol.

He might be asking a bit high of a price, and may be better suited to doing more research to see what hte local market would bear for it's price, but I would suspect that it should be worth somewhere inbetween your suggested offer, and his asking price...

The ideal guy for him to sell to is someone who has grenaded their transmission, and is looking at what local dismantlers have, and what their asking.

As a point of comparison, CED is asking $2,205 less the $700 core (so their core charge is more than your suggested offer).

I might be a cheap Mennonite with the best of them, but I know when someone is being uber-cheap.

If Dustin CAN get it for $400 - and hey maybe autopac has artificially lowered to price of transmissions to the point where $400 is going rate ~ well then good for him!

When I bought this other cobalt, I factored in that the cost of the car was akin to a replacement transmission, should the need ever arise ~ and hey, with the car having under 40k km's on it - any way you shake it, I considered it a good deal.

 

Well ofcourse it's a low offer lol. Like WPGSS/SC said, it's gonna be expensive to ship. That trans is worth $600 MAX. Hell Mongorat is selling an F40 6 speed on here for $600. I dont care what CED sells them for. I could buy that trans and have it grenade in 1000k. It's used. And who knows how used.

I would once again refer you to the core charge shared previously - I'm pretty sure that ZZP charged a similar core charge when they listed F35 transmissions on their site...

 

And I'm pretty sure you don't look to see what transmissions sell for used on here haha

 

You have to realize that ZZP is making 3-500 profit when they turn the transmission rebuilt though... They are basiclly paying you for the inconvenience of shipping the tranny back to them... Plus you will have to pay for shipping to get your core charge back. That puts your 700$ core charge down to maybe 500$ for your transmission.

 

They also only give you 700 if the tranny is mint. If there is anything wrong they start deducting from that number. Buying a used tranny with no guarantees I'd say 400-600 is pretty bang on and without LSD 300-500

 

Sold mine for $650 + shipping. Shipping came to around $230 if I remember correctly.

 

And your trans had half the K on it. Holy **** that guy needed a tranny baaaad lol

 

Ya think mine had mid 20 k's on it. Only thing was that mine didnt come with any sensors. Guy blew his trans so just swapped over the sensors from the blown one. Thats nothing though.. The guy that bought my seats paid $400 shipping

 

Ya there's only 2 sensors. So I feel $400-500 for his trans isn't a low blow. But right now all he's wanting to see is dollar signs and I want my motor back together right meow so I highly doubt he would go for it.

 

Welp, looks like Comp cut the ******* cams wrong for ZZP the last batch and it causes running issues. I measued mine, sure as **** they aren't right. But atleast I found this out before installing them. Car won't be running this weeekend as planned

I emailed ZZP last night. Advise on here contacted comp themselfs and they varified they are bad. No email back from ZZP yet. I really hope this doesn't take long.

ZZP checked the ones they have in stock and they're junk also. So I gotta wait for comp to cut new cams. Ugh...
