I got the confirmation that it's a Total Loss. They gave an offer of $8100 right off the bat so I gonna try and squeeze 9k out of them. It'll have salvage/other title kind of like hail. No integrity needed.
Buy back is roughly $2000 so I'm just gonna do that. Put a windshield in myself at work and should cost around $200. Might get the hood pdr'd or just replace it. Polish the scuffs on the bumpers and drive it into the ground. It's at 180k kms so it's not worth trying to make it perfect.
In the end I'll have my other debts paid off and a decent amount left over for suspension and brakes.
Tom you ordered your complete spring and strut directly from Powell? Is it cheaper than going through CED? Thinking about getting control arms with his rear bushings right away too.
Not sure what I'm gonna do for brakes yet. I get GM stuff at cost so OEM might be my best bet.
Edit (Happened on the 311 about 2ish miles east of New Bothwell.

I know. That's what I was saying about buying it back.

Good plan. Doesn't look there isn't too much damage other than paint, and u work at a body shop . could always get carbon fiber hood . My suspension was koni s on Powell springs and no definitely not cheap , unless u buy the springs and koni s and so it urself. I got all new parts assembled by Powell, my stuff was **** when I took it apart. But yyz springs and koni s are definitely worth it.

Hey Dustin M, you were right. That rattle clanging sound from my back end was the axle pivot bushings. Ugh. So my options are buy new bushings and drop the axle and fight to get the old ones out. Or see of I can find a wreck Balt and with good bushings and switch out the axle assy and flip over my brakes. Found a couple at direct and team and they want 200, new bushings are around 100 each.... Choices choices. Swap the axle out would be less frustrating, new bushings well their new.... What to do? Thoughts?

I love my 257. Needed it because my 252 couldn't keep up with my motor and I was losing a lot of boost after 6000rpm. But I really miss the fun streetability of my 252.

I hop across the border with a 55 gallon drum in the back of a truck, fill it with E85 and cut it with pump gas back here.

It's really not even the 257 that's laggy. It's the stupid tall gearing of the F35 trans. Hell I can do 125mph in 3rd gear at 8000rpm... if I had an F23 to throw in for shorter gear ratios I probably would.

Powell sells those bushings as well. At one point his were cheaper than the oem ones. But oem may have come down inprice since I last checkedz

Haha yeah mine has turned in to a princess. Doesn't see much rain. Just sunny tire burning days. I love my car but done with 4 cylinders to be honest. But I'll roll it till I can get behind the wheel of what I want. Just can't buy a car slower than my Cobalt lmao.
