i agree. I took my buddy for a boot out to grab my truck the other day.. Merging off the highway at about 100 the tires didnt squeal, it just hugged the corner. It impressed the **** outta him, which is pretty hard to do.

So long story but I will cut it short to the parts i like. Gas gauge is screwed and showed me as empty when i filled up.

I said screw it and drove around a bit making sure things were ok. Then drove to portage (took an hour from this side of city. not portage ave. i mean the town)

So as much as I know it isnt real it is as close as i will ever come to free gas. As i drove the gauge slowly went back up. By the time I got back to the city i am at almost 1/2 tank

The real problem is I really have no idea how much gas i have.... so i will have to keep filling up every few days until i can get it fixed.

I will be out for cruise night this weekend though.

wow, never heard of a pooched gas guage before.. I guess best you can do is reset your trip and put gas in every 300K or so to be safe.

That being said. I think this new car is worse on gas.. Might not be but damn, Im going through like 50 bucks every day, sometimes I make it to 2 days. The display says im getting 10.2. (ive seen worse) lol I never bitch about gas, because well, I need it so I buy it.. But $1.23 a liter is crazy.

Search the forums. Others have the gas problem and GM fixed with a newer flash. I hope that is what is wrong with it. Also there is a new flash out for most of our cars that fixes the funny RPM issues we have when you go to stop clutch in and watch the RPM drop almost stall then bounce up then repeat a few times.

I fill up once every 2 weeks. I don't do much driving though. From empty to full when gas was $1.18 (couple days ago) it would cost just over $50. $60 with car wash

City driving i sit at 12L/100km - 13L/100 km

Last night I found highway driving:

4th gear @ 110km/h = 8.0L/100 km
5th gear @ 110km/h = 7.2L/100 km

"" @ 120km/h = 8.8L/100 km
"" @ 120km/h = 7.7L/100 km

The 07 doesnt do that funny coming to a stop wanting to stall issue.. I must admit, I do not miss it at all. lol

Another thing it doesnt do, is when you are in neutral and rev it up a bit, on its way back down it doesnt stop for a second at say 1500 rpm, and then continue to go to idle.. It just goes down in one smooth motion.

Nah Courtney, this happened to him out of no where. The guages will mess up when you stall out, happens to me too on the odd occasion where i forget to take the car out of gear, lol.

His issue has been going for a few days, and he's tried basically everything including reset the computer. It sounds like an issue with the PCM not reading correctly...

Yeah, that's really weird. Hopefully they can fix it with a reflash or something?
I know that my STG2 reflash makes all the idle characteristic different, seems smoother. GL Dayne, weird thing to happen....

Apparently it's possible. Suposedly this was something that happened to a few people befoer they got the newest flash. If you ever get the bouncing RPM needle with the clutch all the way down (after coming to a stop usually), and the car feels like its going to stall, well that's something that happens only if you don't have the newest flash on your PCM

Some dealers were doing it, cause this flash came out before I bought my car, yours might already have it Courteny, but maybe not. Mine and Dane's don't have the newest flash.

Gas guage should be back to normal after driving for a few hours. I will fill up tonight to make sure.

I will get a new flash soon as GM figures out a way to get me stage 2 flash on a used kit.

My favurite part is the computer calculated properly how much gas i was using. but had no idea how much gas is in the tank.

Just so weird that the tank slowly went from empty to half over about 2+ hours of highway driving. People with a gas gauge issue related to a computer flash all said their gauge went up and down then empty. It happened fast. Mine went empty within 5mins but then back up over hours very slowly.

hmmm, yeah I got that idle dropping thing a lot this winter too. It's gone now so hopefully this is all related to the newest flash update.

Dayne, are you getting your Stage 2 flash done at the dealership or by Wes? If it's at the dealership, they should be able to transfer VINs on their servers and then flahs it for you....i'm guessing

One would think so.. but then again one would also think that a dealer would hire techs competant enough to wipe their own asses... unfortunately in this case, neither seems to be true. (lol)

They said they would call me monday. So far it looks like they can't do it.

I may have to look at a different dealership for it.

It was $109 for the flash. They didn't charge me though since they "couldn't do anything" except **** ym gas gauge up which is working again now.

Killed a new model Mustang GT. They couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe..... The guy was actually cool and driving a mustang.

70k roll in 2nd. Passed him pretty quickly even though he had a head start. His buddy in the passenger seat was laughing hard. He had a sweet ride though.

We went again from a stop and I didn't even try (kinda wish i did now but too late). He said he only had good tires on his ride nothing else modded. When he WOT from a dig damn did he go though. I wish we had traction... I should have still tried though since I could have easily caught up even with a bad start.

Funny part is he followed me though southdale and I baited him all the way to the highway keeping my SC quiet in a high gear. hit highway in 5th then shifted down to 2nd once i saw him start to book it. No way was he expecting what happened.

From side by side - he pulled till i shifted and gave the gas - to me ahead of him quickly.
