I remember your car from last year, we chated for a while in the staging lanes. What are you launching it at? Also what's your tire pressure? With 13psi on the 24.5 inch slicks I wa spinning all of 1st and going into 2nd, and running 1.9 60fts. I dropped the pressure down to 10psi and I was in the low to mid 1.8's all day long.

When I swithced to the 26's I was consistantly running 1.81's with a couple 1.78's.

unless u plan to run 13's consistantly (dont owrry about the helmet) what u will need is a catch can, talk to other ss/sc memebers on what to do there..

its the one on mcphilips on the way out to gimili..

You don't need a catch can, I don't have one and no one ever mentioned anything. Unless I'm missing something.

its not a "catch can" per say.....its just something to plug the coolant overflow line. Screws have been used in the past but once you pass inspection you can take it off....

And i can't make it...im working cause i decided i wasn't going.

I'm launching at 7000RPM+ (Mostly 7000RPM but fiddled with the launch limiter up to 7800RPM). I'm thinking the 24.5 is too much slick for the power I'm making (Dyno'd 219whp & 157 ft/lb), and that the OEM clutch is not up to snuff.

I ran with alot of 10-11psi, I think the secret for me (as I sit now before my upcoming mods) is to bump the psi higher to like 13-15psi and allow it to barelt slip/spin and keep my RPM's up during the 60ft.

I'll be installing Stage 4 clutch /w lightweight flywheel to fix the weakpoint in the drivetrain. Then with a better flowing Intake Manifold and a re-tune to squeeze some power out of it (With a focus for more mid-range TQ on this tune)

TQ is a bitch on a Honda as you all know =), it's harder than squeezing blood out of a rock!I'll reach my goal by the end of the 2008 season though

Even if you're confident you'll run 13.99 or lower, just tell the tech inspection dude that you're "estimating" 14's and he'll let you run without a helmet. That's what I did, even knowing I was going to run 13.8x consistently Didn't have a problem all of last year.

I'll be sporting a helmet this year though.

Wow I didn't realize you were launching so high, this is not meant as an insult, but I guess that's due to the fact that you're really not making any torque. What you're saying actually makes sense, everytime I bogged out of the hole I would end up running a few tenths slower, and as soon as I got that little bit of spin in first it was all good.

I might have a camera out this weekend as I'm just watching, no racing for me

Two years ago I told them I was a stock FWD on street tires so maybe a high 14 LOL, I ended up running high 12's with no helmet and no one said a thing.
