There is alot. first the MAF is the key for the car to run when at running temp. The VE table is the back up if the MAF were to fail. so you can tune either. I recommend tuning the VE table first and MAF after as I believe the MAF uses VE table info, so if you tune MAF first then VE table then changes made to VE table changes the MAF tune you worked for. MAF Tuning is very easy and does not take near the time the VE table takes.

AUTO SMOOTHING means what? in HPTUners I could smooth at a click of a button. not sure if that is what you mean. I still have HPTuners to look at. can show you it.

Id be really hard pressed to tune with anything else than HPTUNERS. they have a auto smoothing feature and now with the new dynamic airflow tables you can tune it straight off the maf. no need to worry about the VE. Although its good to have a well tuned VE table. Plus the knowledge of tuning the SS SC on here is HUGE, there is what like 10 turbo cars now? SJschaffer is the god of injectors, area and doc know their **** as well as aa few others on here. It may be fun to travel off the beaten path and try something different using EFI live, but the support on here is so huge with HP tuners that i dont see any benefits at all. my 2 cents.
