Also from what i have read the "launch control" on the turbo balts is providing a worse launch than without.
Depends on the user, and the location. If I remember correctly, the LC was designed in a road setting? It was not meant for a prepped drag track. It was meant for unglued road course use.

People who know how to launch a car will in a short period of time beat the launch control for the sole fact that 'humans can adjust' what they are doing, and the computer cannot. The PCM has no idea what the track is like, and it doesn't adjust it's power during wheel spin or wheel hop. A human driver can make these adjustments (when the PCM isn't counter-acting them).

thought after watching your video, it looks like they let you run in the groove at SIR, this is huge for the street tire guys and is in my opinion the main reason why wheel hop is limited.

This is why you never see cars wheel hopping on slicks, because you have enough traction to accelerate swiftly. I still think that slicks are much easier on a car than any Drag radial, I would love to see a balt out at gimli with some big slicks on it

I could not agree more. And no wheel hop is less stress on the axles, IMO Dane. Just from what Hahn has said regarding axles. IN THE GROOVE FTMFW!

I agree. Hop is worse on everything.

being able to launch is harder on stuff. but is will not snap an axle as quick as wheel hop. I would be more worried about the clutch than axles with slicks IMO.

I think I was drunker than JP when I typed that.LOL

edit -

being able to launch harder with slicks will be harder on the driveline. but should not snap an axle as quick as wheel hop. I would be more worried about the clutch rather than axles with slicks IMO.
