Okay I'm on me knees
But seriously... There were giving them away (free rent) a couple of months ago to new customers. And I want to be a new customer, and I want the HD Plus package for $60 a month and I want them to give me free rent on an HD Receiver but they won't

It doubles you download bandwidth. Its extremely helpful if you have a few computer connected in the house

And just to be clear, I love shaw, and my first post about "I knew this would happen" was referring to my bad luck with everything in general in life and not badmouthing shaw
i personally am getting ripped off by shaw it seems....
basic digital cable , and light speed ....$85 ish a month
doesnt sound right ...im gonna look into mts already .. enough is enough
sorry shaw guys lol

Jeff don't do it!!! And its not because I just got hired by them. We have MTS DSL @ The Source; I've never had so many ******* problems with a service EVER! MTS TV is funny, cause I end up selling more Starchoice when people get pissed of at MTS. *Apparently, the MTS menus are prone to freezing* Thats what I've heard from customers, I just thought it was slow when I played with it @ the MTS store
that sounds about right. my parents are paying $98/ month for regular cable+ some extra channels and high speed internet. I also don't recommend, MTS we had it and changed to shaw because of all the problems we had with it.
Jeff: just tell shaw you are going to cancel and they have all sorts of 'retention' deals they will give you to try and keep you...... my package will be about $100 for extreme internet and the HD Plus package which includes basic cable channels, digital cable channels, hd basic and hd plus channels..

Ok, so there seems to be a lot of chatter about MTS/Shaw around here lately.. I can probably shed some light on basically everything you guys are concerned about... not to toot my own horn, but I'm not just the 'tech support guy'. I'm a senior support rep for both Tech Support and Customer Service, I also train new hires. I tend to know just about everything there is to know about anything (shaw related)
. And if I don't, I know where to get the info.
I guess what I'm sayin is, you guys know you can ask me anything about Shaw right? Well, if you didn't, you do now! If you're having problems with anything, I'll get it worked out!!!!
Now... on to the rest of this stuff!
Yeah, it's a pretty quick fix. I'm guessing you probably had a Service Tech come out and bring you a new modem? If you did, the reason it "didn't take affect" is because the Dispatcher probably forgot to complete the work order in our computer system. Turning on xtreme is actually just a 'switch' in our computers, but you need to already have a specific modem for us to turn it on. Glad this got worked out.
As a side note. While Ash was right about it being double the speed, he's also missing one key thing. Xtreme comes with a feature we call PowerBoost. Basically what PowerBoost does is unlocks the potential of your download speed for the first 20 seconds of any internet usage. So... essentially that screeny you posted is saying you got 22Mbps, while you're only paying for a 10Mbps connection. For longer downloads you'll only get about 10Mbps, but the first 20 seconds of anything you download will hit up to about 32Mbps (in a perfect world)
$85 for basic dig and light speed? are you talkin 85 after taxes? Cause that would make sense. If not, you're getting jooked a good 10 bucks. Text me your account phone number, I'll take a look into it. Maybe I can work something out
