Manitoba SS's 2012 thread
I havent been on conti's in the winter but if theyre anything like the Pirelli's on the SC I wish you luck man! lol. There were a few times I couldnt even drive had to leave my car at work as I couldnt even get out of my parking spot.
I would not reccomend it. I bought rims and tires the didn't clear the brembos back when no information is out about clearance. Sure enough first snow I went to throw them on and I was sol. The next day I got tboned in a parking lot because I couldn't stop. They are like skating on curling shoes man! Don't do it!
Damn mike you are a straight up badass.
Last night around 3 AM the roads were a sheet of ice! i've never seen it that bad. I guess they were a little wet and it froze over.
If i was driving on those conti's i would have slid right into mikes home (a ditch)

the USA sales literature clearly says that the stock conti's are "summer only" - but the Canadian literature clearly states "all season"... which I don't understand, they are according to continental, summer only...
@ cluelessk: Do what ever you have to do to take the conti's off your car ASAP.
There was an '09 that was written off right in winnipeg around the time I bought mine ~ he was running the conti's, and twacked a curb ~ so autopac wrote it off (TOTALLY fixable).
if you do not buy spare wheels, you're going to have to pay to reinstall summers come spring - just something to consider.
There are some 18" LSJ wheels which will clear our brakes;
From the word of it, the 17" Cobalt SS & HHR (look almost identical) wheels do clear without any spacers...
I would think that one of these guys should be able to have a lead on you for rims...
