Oh I thought you had a supercharged. My bad.
But yeah.
225 is as wide as I would go on a 7" wide rim. But it should be fine.
I have 225/40/18 on my sc rims (also 7"wide)

Well if you plan to mod your car an aeroforce interceptor is your best friend. That's a must IMO. Install an aeroforce interceptor, wideband if you ever plan to do a custom tune and your boost gauge. Changing my boost gauge was the first mod I did. I hate reading boost in kpa lol. Best bang for your buck exhaust wise is a bad mab header and ZZP 3" downpipe. No worries on the questions, we've all been there haha. But if you start throwing exhaust parts on to get the most out of it a custom tune is needed.

Questions are always good. Everything bluelightning said is good stuff.

You gotta do some research.
Help us out a bit so we can help you better:

1. What are your goals for HP/tq/?
2. Do you want to set it up more for dragracing, road racing, autocross, show?
3. Is it for daily driving or a weekend warrior?

Once you decide this stuff you can plan your build. There is a ton of good info on here you just gotta dig. Keep in mind there are some ****'s on here where if you ask a question they tear you a new ******* so just ignore them douche's

The guy is new to all of this so I highly doubt he has any answers to most of the questions you are asking other than it's probably his daily driver. When I bought mine I just wanted it to be "a little faster than stock" and look where I am now haha. I think the answers to those questions come with time owning the car.

Ya absolutely they are good questions. But could you answer those questions right after you bought your Cobalt? I still have this message from you in my visitor messages when you click on my profile after you bought your car.

"Dude I posted a thread in the 2.0 LSJ section. I got a K&N drop in filter replacement and I seem to have lost boost do you think just for that I need a retune?"

We've all learned a lot since then lol. Wagner is in the same boat.
