Oil Change prices

Hey everybody just curious how much everybody is paying to get their oil changed. I just took mine in to bennet chev olds and it ended up being $133. I know I got hosed considering I could buy the oil for less than 50, just curious if all gm dealers charge this much or if mine are just a bunch of crooks (wouldn't surprise me)

do you just keep your own records for warranty purposes?

That sux. It's nice to have a shop to do it yourself. Just pay for the oil and it costs $50, my cost. GM did my first oil change and they only put 4L in, better check your oil.

you got BIG BIG BIG time ripped off... i know you have the 2.0 so synthetic is a little more, but do it yourself dude... takes a few minuts and it's not more than 50 to do... i have the 2.2, don't use synthetic, and it costs me about USD13, 20 minutes, and a cold beer to change my oil in the driveway.

I wouldn't say he got big time ripped off. If you take it to the dealer it costs at least $100CDN. But yes I agree it saves a ton of money to do it yourself.

Well, I JUST walked in the door from the dealer getting mine (#7 in 9 months ) done and it was 90.56 USD and that included the filter.

YES, I coud do it myself cheaper, but I have no jack friendly place to do it, and when that changes I WILL be doing myslef.

alright so I'm not that far off. I have friends that work at penziol that will do it for me I just wanted to know if it was the same at all dealers. I'm just going to start buying mobil one from the store and taking it to penziol, the dealer chargers almost 13 bucks a quart for mobil which is an absolute rip off. I was just worried about the warranty it's always nice for the dealer to have your complete service record if possible but at these prices it just isn't worth it

$94 Canadian Here, from Conlin Pontiac for the most part. Wanna keep legit records otherwise I'd do it myself for half that considering I used to work as a lube tech.

here is the invoice for my first oil change

i had my 1st oil change done roughly a year ago..... 115 including tax

if you notice they used 7.5 L of oil at roughly $12.00 total over $80
filter was $12.10
and labour was 12.15

7.5L my ass and at 12 a litre... walmart sell 4.4L for $32

I just did an oil change today on the car, and including 6.5L of Mobile1 5W30 the filter i spend roughly 50-60 bucks.. half of what my stupid dealer is charging..
that and i went there first to see where everything was and what size socket i needed and i have been doping it my self ever since.....

32mm socket.... a long extension and start stretching your left and right wrists... as getting the cap and filter in an out sucks.....

That's exactly what I was expecting since they list the mobil one oil change at 89 bucks but they charged me 25 bucks for an extra 2 quarts of oil, aparently their listed prices are for a max of 5 quarts

wow.. a hundred bucks? id rather do it myself, besids, mines stil got a bit to go before her first oil change, 4000km and 65-69% oil life.. or so it says, i think i should change it once it gets below 50%

i dont know how much i trust the oil life thing, but then again, i checked my oil yesteday and it was stil really really clean. i guess thats a "brand-new-car" thing lol
