With mobile1 you should see 9000-10000 km's between oil changes.

i did mine at 5000,10000 and 20000, 30000

for the first 10,000 i did 2 oil changes .. dont know what but didnt bother me much, now when the oil life gets to about 10% I do the oil change in my garage.

Filter from either GM Dealer ($12.00) or Wall Mart (Fram 10.50)
oil from wall mart $45-55 for 1-4.5L jug and 2-1L Bottle

i had to get a 32mm socket $10 crappy tire (one time purchase) and a fill tank to put oil in. slimest at crappy tire hold 7L so taking the full pan out from under the car with out spilling is tricky

BUT I SAVE ALMOST 50bucks doing it myself

YES, I coud do it myself cheaper, but I have no jack friendly place to do it, and when that changes I WILL be doing myslef.
you don't need a jack to change your oil.

If there are 2,4 or whatever lube points are all you guys buying lube guns to do them?

Or am I way off and it doesn't need lube (factory sealed).

I will never let anyone else besides myself change the oil on my vehicles.

Holy Schnikes! $100 from dealer?!?!??! I got to my buddy's shop and use a oem filter and use Motul fluids and its still under $100 cash depending if I'm using 8100 or 300V.

how bout u guys come to my house...pay me 100 and i'll do ur oil change with whatever oil u want and even throw in a beer hahah lol

But seriously...at least go buy ur own oil and then get sumone to do it. Mobil1, Amsoil, Redline, Motul....all great oils....FIY...Crappy Tire sells various weights of Amsoil Oil. 5w30 and 10w30 for turbo appz.

But seriously...for 100 you can use Motul 300V which is good stuff...its like cognac for engines.

Car's oil changes are so important to some...I'm not entirely sold on so many points of view. Regardless, it's always over $100 cad. for me. Although my last one was $27 taxes in because the retarded dealer mistakenly put in the **** bulk oil. I caught them on it before the car was even started, so they changed it quick and gave a break on the price. (some lube kid got screamed at for that!)
As for changing it yourself, honestly, who cares? Make sure you check the level before you even get in the car if done by someone else. If it's full, and the oil fill cap is tight you're golden. Also, I'm a Golf course Tech and I have a fleet of 50+ vehicles to maintain and repair. After a good 10hr day, I'll sit on my ass and let the dealer do it while I take it easy
