Tuning Requests???
Tuning Requests???
After over a month of working on a calibration for the Cobalt SS/SC, we are finally putting a bone stock cobalt SS/SC on the dyno this week. The only modification is NGK Plugs, one heat range colder with a gap of .035.
What I need from you guys is a list of requests and suggestions you would like to see in our tunes, primarily comprised of complaints about how the car drives/behaves stock and complaints bout other people’s calibrations.
There will be updates to our calibrations as HP Tuners ad’s features to the software giving me more control of drivability and fueling values. There are values in the GM PCM that HP has not included for various reasons. Every customer will be updated to our most recent tune, when it is available, free of charge
Among other unique features, we will be working on offering both 91 and 94 octane tunes built into a single flash/tune, giving drivers the opportunity to run both Sunoco E10 94 and Shell, Petro, or Esso 91, which is more readily available
Examples:
Drivability Concerns such s cold stumbles
Lack of power at cretin throttle positions and cretin rpm’s
Raise Rev Limiter
Raise Speed Limiter
Shut off rear O2 sensor (for off-road mid pipes)
Shut off EGR
Fix Speedo after gear change
Firm up shifts (automatics)
Turn off traction control permanently
Fan percentage increase
Adjust idle rpm
Throttle Response

yes!
tuning for both 91 and 94 is an amazing option,
i thin what alot of people want is a tune that will push the car to the limits given the modifications but maintain the stock driveability, i know some people have had idle surges in reverse or a choppy idle when swapped over to the 60's,
for me personally id love for my car to run the way it does now, maybe a lil better(improve over the gm flash) but tweak things that gm didnt do for us(torque management, better a/f, more timing, ect ect..)
paul if you are doin the cobalt any time after 330 let me know and like i said ill swing by and check this out.

for me cold starts are not an issue, i do warm up the car b4 i drive off, if i dont its a kinda choppy first to second shift, i may be interested in the rev limit being bumped a tad, id still shfit at 7 grand, thsi is to only insure i dont ping off the redline.
my biggest issue is driving with my untuned cams.
once the ferrea valvesprings come in, I'll switching over from my Bates and get it tuned, finally.
that and I'll need you to solve me P0017 code. I'll explain onceI'm ready I'll explain more.

alot of us tht have intakes must get them tuned for our specific set up, same with pullies, driveability is huge, smooth shifts, the way the car makes power as the rpms raise should be nice and smooth too, my gm updated stage 2 ALMOST cured all the driveability issues i was having, but i can still feel a lil imperfections since the stage flash is not meant for my smaller pulley and aftermarket intake.
torque managament disabled from second gear on, if enabled in any other gear,
pretty much sqweeze all you can but maintain driveability.

Keep up the posts. Because I do not own one of these vehicles and can only simulate certain things on the dyno stuff like this helps and keeps people coming back. As I mentioned, any updates with our tunes will be passed on free of charge.
player, with the cams you will need to adjust a lot of tables to get the car running right. The P0017 code, is a crankshaft position sensor error and can be turned off with the HPT software. Because you changed cams, this is the reason the light is illuminating
