Thanks. We had been dating for 5-1/2 years when I asked... lol. All my family and hers were like "Finally!". lol

Not too sure if she would be down for a Cobalt meet honeymoon! that's why I'm hoping the meet will be before.

I think high powered go carts would be awesome but isn't this supposed to be a cobalt/ion/G5 meet? All about our cars, not go carts (although it definitely would be fun). How many road courses are their in western Canada? Cause maybe we could switch things up and have the meet in BC or Sask. I could use a vacation hahaha. But I do believe a poll is in order

Btw Congrats SK.

if you got some idea's post em up. i'm sure the rest of us albertans would have no problem going to bc. the reason we chose alberta in the first place was because it was more central for the guys east of us.

it doesn't matter to me too much!!!!!!!!!!!! i am planning to take a trip around that time but i will wait to see the results of everything first. i agree the cars are what the meet is about, but i found that it is a lil groupish. lol with something like gokarts we can have fun together. the meet is still about the cars. so it doesn't matter to me what happens. the problem with bc or man it is so far for either province to go to there. lol poll is needed thou

I'd go as long as it isn't go-carting or anything.

If I'm gonna drive anywhere in AB/BC I want it for a Cobalt meet, not something I can do on my own, aha.

well reviving this thread. i've been talking with rod (victory red ss) and he says that if we have the meet at castrol again, there is a good chance he can show up with this monster of a cobalt. apparently he challanged his brother who lives out here to a race next year.

Thanks everyone for the congrats.

Seeing rods car could be pretty tempting to have it back at castrol. Another option that I was thinking might be to have the meet at or near cypress hills in Saskatchewan. Pretty nice place and has lots of camping options. I also believe that there is a race track close (within a half hour of there). I'm thinking that Medicine Hat has a track. No idea on availibility or what it's like.

Sorry bout the last post. I was thinking medicine hat but you would have to be on the north west edge of Cypress hills park to get to medicine hat within an hour.

Hey how about we have the "western canada meet" somewhere in the middle..like sask. So us manitoba people can acctualy go.

Come on now albertians lets not be selfish...lets host it in Sask this year..i know a handfull of dedicated cobalt people here will come.

don't matter just thought that would be an option as we already have a good rep with castrol and can get a decent price for it. if someone from saskatchewan wants to step up and talk to a local track about renting it i'm all for that.

i mean look at it this way. lets all not be selfish here

alberta obviously generates the most people for this meet. sask second.

Manitobians..have to drive 14 hours in order to reach this meet. albertians. practicaly none. sask. 4-6 or so depending where they are

why not meet in the middle? i know there are a few people here who want to go, we have a good close friend (Thought) who lives in saskatoon.

I never ever expect the meets to be in manitoba, ill never offer that..so you albertian boys dont need to drive to far lol

yeah that would be a cool idea, however the turnout would probably be alot lower. And give us sk guys some more credit! mre like 6-9 hours not 4-6 haha

like i said me and i'm sure i speak for the rest of albertans don't mind driving its all about the meet. lets see if we can get some numbers as i would like to have the meet at a drag strip with camping again cuz it was alot of fun last year with the drag racing. i'm sure chad would be able to hook us up again this year. but lets get someone to step up and get some numbers for a sask drag strip.

SIR in Saskatoon might be an option for a track in Saskatchewan. Just not sure on camping as well as what is available right around the track. Some of the guys from Saskatoon might know more of the particulars about that track.

right on capt me and you bros this one is for all the marbles man lol. hey everyone out there who doesn't live in ab. we as ab. do not mind driving just be careful when there is a train of 20 cars coming from the north and south not to cross the road. wait you should see us coming for at least 3hrs away. saskratchmyass here we come kidding boys settle down. i will have to brush up on my sask. farm boy jokes. all seriousness thou guys i believe as steve this is about the meet. i am sure that the rest of us will be all good with that. so we need a volunteer from saskatoon area. to be a represtentive for us with the track. chad you up for moving. and i will supply the meet decals again. this time we will do it my way so i don't have to work like a slave. as a idea for the diff. provinces. we should all have like two prov. meets before the big one so we can promote it better amongst ourselves. we had alot of people who are members not show coz i believe that we didn't do enough to get everyone on board. i would personally like to see at least 100 cars this time. over two days of activities. last year was way to short. if we are planning this already then we should have no issue getting more cars. by the way i think chad did a awsome job last year for a young guy the next guy to put this together should have a chat with chad. he should have some thoughts on how to make this year better. just my thoughts and i will shut up now.

Well i might as well try a good amount of typing

One i can talk with SIR see if we can get an event set up.

I can get us camping/hotel rooms for a around 15$ / night camping, Hotel 75.00 / night it's just outside of Saskatoon and it's only a 16 km's to SIR

If your seriously considering this option Let me know i'll talk with the Owner of the Hotel/camp ground and work something out.

I think the SIR option is a good option. It wouldn't hurt to find out prices in comparison to the Alberta options. A show and shine or something in Stoon would be cool and then a cruise out to the track for an afternoon of racing would be a fun option. I also think that there are go carts for the guys that want to do that close to SIR as well.
