yea but theres a few tc cars that have more mods then him, in some cases, traction mods and every time jody lauches i hear his tires squeeling like a bitch. And the air density between castrol and race city isnt that much of a difference.

Anyways, in the spring/summer, ill have a ported throttle body, tune and the rear lowerd 1.5". So i hope to get 13.8ish off the bottle and into the 12s on the bottle.

and the 300hp with a t/c comes with 330+ torque where as with an s/c its probably under 270 torque,

their's no one whos posted a t/c with more mods this year, im the closest one in terms of mods,
but he has a superchips tune, where i have the gms1
he has a full 3" catless exhaust, i just have a 3" catted dp
he strips his car before the track which helps a bit im sure
and he has an intake, which i am wondering if it hurts or helps, from all the talk of skewed maf tables, also if the intercooler allows it to maintain close to stock iat's or if they are alot higher due to it sucking in hot engine bay air, IIRC he has a little bit wider tires too.
I have transmission mounts, and the hot side charge pipe too, but the charge pipe probably doesnt do much, and the mounts cant make up for the other mods, hopefully i can get some more practice in and have some times that are competitive with his though

and as for RC vs castrol, calgary's over 1000 feet higher, and i dont know much about the 2 tracks, but from what iv heard castrol is maintained better

I've actually heard that the LSJ doesn't even get that high... but I'd wager the 300hp M62 cars are few and far between...
(btw I am clueless as to how much the torque curve is affected by the TVS - so maybe what I had heard was pretty much for stock block/supercharger)

You have no argument from me.

Castrol vs Race City

but let me add a smidge regaurding RC;

Our past (well present for time being) city coucil has been threatening to shut down Race City for several years.
It got so bad that for (iirc) the 2008 & 2009 seasons, the city gave the track operator a green light after the deadline to book IHRA events - so it's not so much that they haven't mainatind it*, but moreover they haven't had a budget to do anything because city council has screwed with the operator.
We have only had one person on city council who has lobbied to keep it open - even our outgoing mayour wasn't for keeping the track;
I'd appreciate that any Calgarians consider this final bit when casting votes for the forth coming mayoral race;
From everything I've heard and understood Ric McIver is pretty much the sole reason why the track is operating this and next year (he got the TV spots making the closing of RC an issue, he got people to contact their MLA's ect);
If Ric gets into office (according to the the members of the CDRA whom I know) Calgary will always have a racing venue... apparently the CDRA is all behind Ric.

Can you please pass the word around?
(typically people in our age group are indifferent to mayoral/ect races, so it's the old codgers who make up most of the voting population - frankly, I cannot see them getting this, I'd wager the older or uninformed might be inclined to vote for a former news anchor (who just happened to have no opinions to offer when she announced she was running!?!)

(* = actually the 1/4 mile is regularly maintained, and the back of the track did get repairs this spring; not that the latter is evedent anymore...)

well ill prove if thats true or not next season, ill go to castrol with the truck and with the same mods ill go to rc. RC and Castrol arent that much different in altitude, maybe track prep. I know castrol is good for track prep cuz i can laugh my truck at 3000rpm with no spin and theres guys with same mods and a QC and they spin at 1500rpm. But .5 difference, i think that is abit extream

woo-hoo!!

We've now hit ten AB* Cobalts posting up their best e/t's ~ took long enough!!
(* = ok, not quite ten Albertian's... but who's counting?)

I might be asking much, but I'd like to see us get to three in each of the following groups - so that I can justify splitting up;
  • Turbocharged
  • Supercharged
  • Naturally Aspirated

(I think we're almost there... I'll check when I add Chris's run)

EDIT:

We're almost there;
4-turbocharged
4-supercharged
2-naturally aspirated

Now if outtamymind would have just raced when he said he was going to!?!

well I expect things to change over the next couple years - these are no longer brand new exciting cars... those who stick with it, will without a doubt see more group participation from local Cobalt SS members - that I have no doubt.

Well in the spring ill be running Nitrous and in the summer ill be starting a engine build to go with a bigger shot, i want to run a 200shot. Viper engines can only handle 150 and thats pushing it cuz of the piston lands. To be safe im running 100shot. So what group does that put me in...haha

hmm... touchy much?

but seriously I don't even have $2500/month bills - and I'm paying a mortage... I'll stop right there.

@ Mark - I saw your reply to TeeJay's post here - in the Calgary thread and was scratching my head....
