Calgary - random talk thread
where you guys go? did you go see sammy at mrd's???( mr detail) cant wait to hear how it went.... on a side note boys i think we are finally done moving..... i will pm everyone tomorow with ph# and address
We did multiple runs
1st run-274hp,231 torque
2nd run-285hp,241 torque
3rd run-281hp, 238 torque
Had multiple runs after varying 10hpai we were fine tuning afr but hp was suffering due to heat soak on last 3 pulls. We know some areas to work on so will be going back once we do some research on areas to improve and hopefully go on a less humide day than today. This is a dynomite dyno, for an example he printed off what the equivalent on a dyno jet would be- equivalent was 345hp and 280 torque.
Mr detail was great, would recommend them to anyone
Also big thanks to mark for taking time to tune. Also thanks for coming out jon
Jon feel free to post the vids

Actually your mom does, and so does my hair!
the amount of laughter here actually made me lol.
..... no.
hahahahaha you had a purple cavalier hahahahahahahahaha
lol the called it Hawiian something or other. but chicks loved that little thing!
You're calling a Cavalier a "chicks car" while your driving a 2007 "Cavalier" - seriously look at the 1995-2005 Cavalier coupes, and tell me they don't look like the Cobalts...
(they also carried over running gear in base form)
Besides, I understand you might know some women who love Cobalts - using your logic wouldn't that make a Cobalt a "chicks car"?
I sometimes ask myself if these types of labels are not made by guys who are worried their "wang" is too small...
So they have to buy a vehicle that's big or lacking in style/comfort to say something like;
hey that's a chick car, this here is a man's car
I am only aware of two types of cars that have been specifically marketed to women;
base model mustangs, and (1970-1981) Firebird Esprit's - those two justifyable examples not withstanding, I hate the label.
I mean even the late model Celica's & Integra's are besting (personally observed) 17 seconds in the quarter mile without major modifications...
To the best of my knowledge the Cavalier nameplate was dropped purely so that the automotive critics would start with a clean slate instead of comparing it against the outgoing J-body platform which was being replaced...
I know for a fact my brother's Cavalier would lay the smack down on many Cobalt SS's...
and jon. you call the cobalt a chicks car. i call it a unisex car that is primarily driven by the male population and loved by the female population
I do believe I have never called a cobalt a chicks car! that's just plain mean! now a civic or cervix as I call it, is a chicks car. b/c you need the aformentioned female reproductive organ to own one! it's like a prerequiste!!!
hahahaha and not you jon, other jon (sound junky)
or the one time when i was playing pro street and showing off my rides. and for the record guys she had a hot curling iron in her hands. no way was i goin near her lol.

Here's a thought to ponder;
If they truly were chicks cars, wouldn't that make it easier to pick up women with them?

I thought I tried to start a new rule for this thread;
Incidentally;
I've known several guys who owned Civic's, albeit normally they were the CRX version...
(which where kinda cool in my books - even if they were still gutless!)
I also know a guy who owns a VERY mean (non-CRX) in Edmonton...
In my books, it's all about either V8+RWD or 4cylinder+compact.
...
btw, would anyone here be interested in bringing their car to the First Alliance Church car show - it's been arguably the biggest one for the last couple years...

whoops
So, it's looking like Chris, Mark, Mark's buddy (Cody w/Neon RT), and myself will be in attendance.
Frankly I'd expect we will be about hte only FWD cars in the group - I can't recall seeing any in the past (then again last years stand out car in my mind was an unrestored 1926(?) business coupe or something to that effect...
This is a free car show (one of probably few, since they have a sponsor that covers all the car show insurance - which is generally what the car show fee goes towards).
They want you to pre-register - I pre-registered & got my confirmation on June 6th.
If anyone else from here is thinking of attending, please PM jrmotosports 88 to meet up with us before getting into the parking lot ~ this way we can all park together;
otherwise you will probably be parked between two musclecars, and (likely) get absolutely zero respect.
Mark - check your email's.
