meh... I'd rather get that lawn mower which was promised to me a week ago to take care of this jungle that I call a lawn...

or tinker on something in the garage.

besides, I had my fill of the stampede growing up...

=soundjunky;5896460why do people have to buy these gadgets?

Places like Autovalue can scan your car for free (just ask Steve - he should know) ~ or you can buck up and get the legit scanner for about $100...

Or you can just call me up to scan your car like Graham does
It would just be for gauges and whatnot, the app looks pretty cool... can buy a big expensive one that has bluetooth but dunno if i wanna buck up for the expensive one lol

I just remember on the Monday after the weekend last year they posted in the Herald all the tickets they gave out and there were DRL tickets in there. I doubt they've ever given a DRL ticket outside of street wheelers weekend.

For awhile I was wondering if it was even illegal to disable DRL's.... only thing I could find said that vehicles after 91 (or whenever it was) that were intended for sale in Canada had to be equipped with them, but nothing that said you couldn't turn them off. Whatever.

Forecast is for thunderstorms too. All those people that setup camp along Mayor Magrath are gonna have a fun time.

really?

considering the weekend is targeted at cars much older than 1991 ~ I wouldn't think they could write that many...

As far as I've been made aware if it's a 1991 model year - built after January 1st 1991, and shipped to Canada (RPO: Z49) then it has to have them - in one form or another, or it should never pass a saftey inspection.

Some cars had the lights wired so that the DRL were the fog lights, others were wired so that the low beams were the DRL;
My GA-SE(GT) has the fogs doubling as the DRL;
my GA-LE(the fast one) is not a Z49 car -so after I imported it, it passed inspection w/o DRL ~ I'd hate to see them try to ticket me for that... especially since all these JDM cars lack much more important saftey devices installed in north american cars as far back as the 1960's...

Not cars in the cruise, but more the "unofficial" stuff on Mayor Magrath that stretches to nearly midnight. List included stunting, reckless, careless, bunch of seatbelt tickets, couple impaired, and others. I assume it'd be a situation where you'd have to be doing something else dumb before they'd write you a DRL ticket, but it's still noteworthy.

correction;
any late model car that would have come standard in Canada with DRL is required to have them - but just like the JDM cars, there is flexibility when it's old enough;
I imported my Grand Am when it was over fifteen years old - so I wasn't required to do the conversion...

At least that was what I was made to understand.

woo-hoo!!

Just got a phone call from JC;

Apparently I managed to bend my strut!

They were going to order & install a replacement strut - which weas going to cost (less labor) approx $600...

I am going to put that white car to some use finally ~ then back for the alignment (fingers crossed)...

I thought something looked wonky!

Right here;

probably nothing... seriously.

besides I'm trying to keep it as a roughly complete car unless I have the need to remove, or find someone willing to buy either the transmission or engine...

Well guys, it looks like I really dodged the proverbial bullet right there...
JC said that the strut would be roughly $600 ~ but CED lists them for roughy $85usd
I dunno what kind of markup is in there for either GM Canada, or JC... but a price increase of nearly 700% between the two... seems a little off.
(maybe the service advisor who phoned me meant the $600 included the labor to R&R both the strut & spring... what's average shop rate these days?)

I doubt it. Canada dealerships like to rape us on parts pricing. God bless the internet. And America....

I whole-heartedly agree...

But I'm sure the service advisor stated $600 for the strut only - not including labor...

They give out DRL light tickets when they pull you over for street racing and stupid stuff like that. They are not stopping people for not having them on like you said. It's when your a dick to a cop he's a dick to you .

Also I'll text you around seven thirty.

Been a bit since I've been on here haha. I ended up getting a 2nd Gen Talon TSI AWD. It's a blast to drive. Needs a little TLC though.
