You take the VIN and bill of sale to the insurance company/licensing building and tell them you want to register it. Then, you register the car.
Once it has been safetyed of course.

Yea, the only "title" i've ever seen is just on a pc screen at the place of insurance. It just says the VIN and current status of the vehicle (valid, wrecked, totaled, salvage etc.)
You should just need the VIN and the bill of sale. Cuz that's all we got!
Thanks cobalttuner!

Heh, the licensing system is different even from province to province. I had to show proof of insurance in order to file a "complaint" with the police in AB, i'm from Sask, so all our licensing/insurance stuff is one one ticket. I guess AB has more then just one because when i produced my insurance, she was still waiting for more pieces!
Yup, bill of sale. Only other thing that might be of some good is in most cases (or so for me) the previous owner would sign over the registration (there's an area in the back specifically for that).
