Angry CM FX400 f**cked

So my CM FX 400 clutch is pooched. I phoned CM and he basically gave me the brush off after I explained the situation with this clutch. Now, when I say he gave me the brush off what I mean is that he wants me to take the clutch out, send it to them and they will test it to see if it warrants have a new one sent to me. Sooo...I says, what do I do in the mean time with a car with no clutch as it is my daily driver if I take it out and send it to them I have nothing else to drive. That is when I got no response other than that is not my problem attitude. I also stated that his R&D department should get on the redline and cobalt forums and do some reading as there are allot of other unsatisfied customers who have purchased these crappy clutches. He then said that he was not aware of any problems with the FX400 or any of there other clutches.

So I don't care whether this gets blocked or not but I will post on every forum I can find that CM are not worth the money and customer satisfaction is the sh*ts. I may even create a web page about it.

i see where you're coming from. i emailed them with questions about their springs, and holy ****, talk about a lack of effort in the email to answer any of my questions. It hardly even made sense. i even wondered if he read my questions.

Yeh when I was asking him my questions he did not seem to be very interested.

Which spec did you buy? I was wondering if there is a real difference between the 3 and 3+? How do you like it. I also have a fidanza fly wheel with my CM. Do you know if it will match up with the spec?

Make sure the clutch is bleed correctly from the master cylinder and the bleeder nipple. I had a CM stage 4 with a findanza flywheel and i loved it. I could power shift every gear.

we have bled that F**ker every which way to sunday and I can barely shift it. I have to practically put my foot through the fire wall. When they installed yours did you have to do anything to the step on the clutch?

Yeh, I will just drive it conservatively until i can get the new clutch or someone comes up with a act of god for me. I am thinking of going with the spec 3+ and use the fedanza flywheel I already have. So far I have only read good things about the spec 3+.

Bully is just fine if you use the stock flywheel or buy the adapter for the fidanza.

There are issues with the Bully clutch at the track. I talked to someone who knows a few people who have these problems. I don't know what they are but it onlt happens at the track. This is coming from a person who works with Bully.

Well from what I've been reading the Exidy does sound hands down like the best clutch for our cars but I think it is a little over board for my car and the street drivability is taxing. The Spec 3+ sounds like what I need and I already have a Fedanza flywheel.

Thanks and I will keep your Bully clutch in mind. I bought this car at a Crysler Dealership so I am going to phone to find out if any of this or the labour would be under warrenty.

Cheers guys.

This guy told me to wait a few weeks and there will be a revised clutch out from Bully to fix the track issues.

I found an Exedy and ordered it today, hope they are as good as they sound.

That's great. I heard they are on back order nation wide. The only thing is that the cherp from what I've read. I know that if you have the money that it would probably be the best one to purchase but what do you think of the Spec 3+? I do not plan on modding this car any further as it is my daily driver. Do they have the problems or is that just driver error making them slip?

Thanks

PS: Where did you find the Exidy clutch?

Chrysler doesnt have to warranty anythign on the car. Its still under GM warranty. Take it to a GM dealership andf try there. But they wont warranty it either. Becuase the problem is caused by an aftermarket part. Its all gonna come outta your pocket man.

Like i said it sucks, but **** happens right. I know how it feels... I blew my stock tranny on my truck and didnt think i would and it cost me over $3000.00 that i didnt want to spend to fix it. But i had no choice. Atleast ur clutch + labour shouldnt be more than 1300-1400 bucks..

I totaly agree with you Cody and yes Chrysler does not but I thought I would check with them any who. What do you think about the Spec 3+ clutch. The reason I ask is that I already have the Fidanza fly wheel so I thought I would just reuse that.

Cheers

Why not call Bully directly. Ask for Frank (owner). I found him to be straight and very easy to deal with. I personally will be using a Bully for my project.
