cruise through the mountains!!!!!!!
whoops.. I thought I posted that in the calgary thread...
way to derail a thread!
My oil filter is the standard ecotec oil filter ~ something like $9;
that's the air filter;
iirc it's a reinforced version of the more common 2.4L filter.
I'll pop by JC today to see what it would cost to get one from them...
I need to have a good one for if I ever bring hte car back in for service work or what not...
I've been juggling my original, had nathans, and then had "another"... the latter of which JC would black-ball me for having.
Mine was fine up until my recent warranty work, after which I noticed it was all covered in greasy hand prints & what not... and being over a year old, I'm sure I'd be suspect if I keep running that one.
Planning on getting the stage1 installed soon - which is why this is on my mind.

not really.
sometimes hte parts prices are reasonable, othertimes they can get parts you cannot get elsewhere... then we come to warrantee...
I've been playing by GM's rules, and it's a good thing too - did you miss the warranty work they did for me recently?
20 days with a rental car;
sixteen rockers replaced;
sixteen lifters(aka: lash adjusters) replaced.

I did see that but that wasn't your fault. You didn't put a part on your car that "may" have caused extra strain on the engine. Dealers are always looking to make a buck. If they can make you pay for warranty work that they don't want to pay for then they will try and weasel thier way into getting you to

yup, just lilke when the dealership tried to make me pay to replace the swithc box to my reverse lights. They tried the "warrenty is voided because you have a aftermarket intake" I asked "im pretty sure the warrenty is only voided if the aftermarket part causes the problem. Do you mind telling me how a cold air intake causes my reverse lights not to come on"
ya i'm pretty confident they don't as this came from my service managers and shop foremans from the dealer i used to work with but any reputable shop won't void your warranty for stupid **** anyways and know that its hard to prove if a particular part actually caused the concern in some cases.
You sure we dont have it? I was told by a few dealerships they wont void the warrenty if the part didnt cause it. One of the dealerships i went to quite a few times back in Halifax, was working on my sway bar end links which i know were broken cuz of the rough ride the eibach sportlines made. He knew it was caused by the springs but they couldnt prove it so i never got charged a thing.
ya i was trying to find a definitive clear answer through a quick search and they all say the same thing that it is an american law and currently canada does not have one but all of the articles i found you have to read alot and didn't want to put you guys through all that lol.
I had lunch with Mark last week;
He has pretty much nailed down spots to go ect, he was going to have something finalized any day now;
He's still going on this cruise, only riding shotgun with me;
Pending him penning the route, we are going to need to know how many people are gong, so I can look into radios....

lol yes it is pretty much..... i am not sure whos coming? depending on the out of towners will depend how far we go.... and i am leaving everything loose on time.... so many varibles can happen still... but essentually the route is planned... meet at mcdonald's at canada olympic park at 7:30 8 am and first stop will be whitefish day area(seebe)... then we will head too 2 jack lake... from there we have options... and i am sure we can figure out what the group wants to do.... there are about 12 diff places around banff that would take great pics.... like the road to norquay, banff falls, the hotsprings gondola lift parking area.... we can stop for lunch in banff... then we can go to lake louise and moraine lake.... then we can head up too lake peyto.... honestly photo opts are everywhere... it wont be hard to figure out.... like i said it all depends who is coming and what the group wants to do....
