Just wanted to say thanks to Erin(?) black coblat for taking us to our hotel. That was hugely appreciated. As for not telling anyone where we were headed is not true. I know that I loudly annouced that I wanted to go to my hotel and check in seeing as we were 4 hours behind check in time. We asked what was going on after the meet and we were told that everyone would wait for us at IKEA.

As for the meet it was nice to see so many turn out with such bad weather. I tried talking with a couple of you and well the feeling was us SRT-4 owners were not welcomed. This was passed on through several cobalt owners.

I also want to thank Ed, Pascale, Mike and Serge for helping out with filling up our dyno day. Muchly appreciated.

If there is a plan for cruise/race day in calgary please let me know as I work at Race City and maybe able to get a "Club" lane only for the staging lines.

That was not communicated to alot of us who showed up late, and we were there LONG after the last group showed up... didn't even know when you guys were to be back.

Just thought I'd clear that up.

Not sure what gave that impression....since the entire congregation came over to your cars the second you arrived to say hi and check them out.

*shrug* i was happy to see some srt's there myself. if they made a 2006 srt id likely have bought one.

oh well.

Im certain the feeling was not intended in that way.

1) I was not denying that you had told anyone you were going. Those who knew did not communicate with the rest of the group as to what was going on and where you were going. There was meerely some confusion, thats all. I didn't mean to imply that you left without telling anyone, because some people did know.

2) Thanks to the SRT-4s showing up, I finally got to see one up close. I was glad to see some other cars than Cobalts and Redlines, and despite the BS comments about SRT-4s (or NEONS according to some 'Balt owneres.....sorry) I was glad to see you guys there. I'm sorry if some of the people bashed your cars, but I know the Sean and I at least had no problems with the SRT-4s being there. I thought it was nice that you were willing to drive 3 hours to come to a Cobalt meet.

Ok I guess its my turn to comment on this whole thing. I drove most likely the furthest of everyone to make the meet. I have no affiliation with the Calgary or Edmonton folk. Although I will consider myself part of the Calgary crew.

I have no idea of the deleted thread, and have no clue of what was said before I was able to get online. I also have no idea of who MrGriffithDW is. I tried to know who was who but well not everything is retained in my memory.

Once we got into Ikea and met up with a VERY nice turnout of Edmonton folk, all was going well. Next thing I knew 4-5 cars of the Calgary gang took off. Pressumably to check into the hotels. I was not aware of any other info. After an hour or so of checking each others cars out and such we lined up for a few pics before heading for some eats.

Joey's was the spot which was decided but with 1.5 hours before we could get seated we went to the 2 restaurants next to Joeys and got a 20 min seating at Montana's (2 doors down from Joeys) We had a nice section of Cobalts in the lot which you couldn't miss. We ordered drinks...then ordered a second round.....and then dinner. About this time the crew that bugged off to "check in" showed up. (this is about 2-2.5 hours later) By the time the original dinner crew was about done dinner the first crew got seated behind us. Noone is pissed off yet, things are understood and we make plans to meet up at United Cycle. So the main gang moves out to head to the meeting spot to wait for the rest to finish eating and hook up. After we get there we are informed that someone got called and told that the others are not coming to meet up. OK so we make plans and move on about business for the rest of the evening.

I do not have any clue what is true or not. This is what I saw. My only question on this whole thing is where did the original Calgary crew go and why did it take so long to get back to WHY we were in Edmonton. 2 hours plus is way too long to expect the main meet to stand around waiting.

It was fun otherwise, the weather sucked bad, and equally shitty we didn't get any racing in.

Nice to meet so many Alberta Cobalt/Redline/SRT folk!!

That's exactly the way it went down.

As far as the SRT bashing, it was all in good fun, friendly rivalry is always in my book welcome... It was good to see you guys come up though, you're welcome anytime to come again.

Ya, all the srt comments was mearly to try and get some reaction out of the second group. You guys just walked in started with your sarcastic "thanks for waiting guys comments" and then proptly sat down and proptly ingnored us. Redsupercharged girl was the only one who said anything to us. We didn't even know who MrGriffithDW was till she pointed him out.

Anyways this is mainly for the srt-4 guys, any comments were in good fun. I test drove and Srt-4 and came very close to buying one and have much respect for them (mainly the ability to make them go insanely fast). There is going to be some rivalry due to the fact that you guys will be our biggest compititon

I think a lot of you got confused as to my reactions.. yeah... I was a little upset that I wasn't part of any of the pics, considering I pretty much planned out the calgary half of the meet... where to meet, when we were leaving etc.... but hey.. **** happens, I did tell a few people we were going to check in and we'd be back, but you know what, stuff happens, especially since we didn't know any of eachother! I was the one that called Mike and told him we were going back to the hotel because some of our SRT-4 buddies were getting pissed off at you guys for making fun of the blow off valves and the put put noises.... that also bothered me. We are all supposed to be car entusiasts. If anyone thought the srt-4 's were there to steal the thunder, they weren't lol... they were cruising up with me for their dyno day on saturday (which I did take part of)!!! I had asked everyone in our previous thread if it was okay if I brought a couple srt's with me and nobody objected! And Cody, I agree with you about the whole people driving like idiots... that DID **** me off! And Just so everyone knows, I do feel REALLY bad for making us so late... I don't know what was with my car, but it's in tip top shape now.... I still think I sucked up water! But anyways, I am up for going up there again or having you guys come down here, I still had a blast and was really excited about getting everyone together! Hopefully next time things will be more in order! Mike, I agree with you on pre-booking a restaurant, especially with a lot of us!!! I still had a blast guys and sorry if I seemed pissed off.. .I was more worried about my car than anything else!

Oh and so everyone knows MrGriffithDW was the only edmonton guy to help us calgary folk out, which I REALLY appreciate, you made our lives a HELL of a lot easier without you, most of us would have been completely lost! Thanks man!

If I knew edmonton, trust me, I would have been back at United Cycle with all of you.. I didn't know east from west and to get to our hotel, hahaha FUNNY!!! It took us so long to get back to the IKEA cause we all kept getting seperated at lights, had to stop for gas, find parking at the hotel which was next to impossible (I was parked on teh street lol) and then check in which took the stupid women at the desk about 30 minutes, then go up to our rooms put our **** away, get changed (I was drenched from the knees down cause of the stupid rain and my car breaking down and having to get in and out on the side of the highway) then head back..... When you aren't familiar with edmonton, that takes a while! lol! But hey.. I still had fun and the next meet will be even better! I am sorry for making the edmonton people feel like they were ditching us... you guys weren't it's just teh way **** happened...... I hope there are no hard feelings and everyone gets along... and as for MRGRIFFITHDW... please don't be pissed at him. I can completely understand where he is coming from! Put yourself in our shoes.... he was helping us find our hotel then we cruised back... I did try to incorporate both groups, but it's REALLY hard to incorporate two groups sitting accross from eachother... please don't be upset with me!

lol you all refer to the SRT-4 and Redline and Cobalt guys/gals. I for one have more respect for the person driving the car then the car itself. when i first got the cobalt i met up with MI6 the same day to teach me how to drive the dam thing lol since its my first stick car, actually learned quite a lot. Dustin you should work for a driving agency teaching people how to drive manual.

Hey guys and gals,

this is my first post on this forum. i would like to thank all of the cobalts for weloming us at ikea. my srt was the silver and black one. I am however sorry about "whatever" happened. I honestly had no clue what was going on because all i wanted to do after that HORRIFIC 5 hour drive was check in to my hotel room (witch was on the otherside of the city, for those who dout us.). then we wanted to get some food. again nobody told me we were meeting up with you guys, lol. us srt's were just goin with the flow. trying not to invlove ourselves so people wouldn't get mad at our appearance.

again thankyou to all and in regards to your dyno sheets i will post them on this thread as soon as i recieve them. lol

if you are all looking for a guy to do a video shoot for your club, well......your talkin to him *wink*.

talk to you soon.

Thanks for coming down! Sorry the weather blew and that the group got split up as the night went on. I had not seen an SRT-4 up close before other than seeing one on the road. I need a ride in one!
