Yet again my brain is going 100mph. Now I'm debating keeping my car, and buying a new bike in the spring. Something along the lines of a GSX-r750 or a yammy. I knew this would happen. I change my mind to often, lol. My current objective was to sell the Cobalt, and pick up an '04 or '05 IS300 and build that. The 2JZGE motor in those things can be monsters. Now, I'm not so sure. I'm still leaning towards the IS300 though.

Yeah, I'm just really interested in that 2JZGE motor. haha, it's way too tempting. But then again, the rush of a bike would also satisfy me. Reason i don't have one already, is none of my close friends ride.
... maybe not a close friend.. but you know Mikey (aka Sobe).
In the end, it doesn't really matter... you meet a hand full of people who aren't retards, and go on the odd ride with them. Besides that, solo riding is the best.

Keep the C-Balt, and get a bike which would be 10x faster than any luxury car or cobalt.
What makes that engine so great? What is its stock threshold, along with the threashold of the tranny?

The IS300 is more of a sport luxury. It's not a big car. Throw some sick 20's on that thing. Juicy. Go on Youtube and check out turbo IS300's. You'll see why I like that car/motor.

They can be quick...
I've driven the new TC. The road noise is that of a cardboard box with wheels, and the sunroof doesn't seal well either. My 2.4 is whisper quiet on the highway compared to the new TC.
Bluebaltsc-"Why not get an 09 SS/TC with the GM stage kits?? The SS/TC is going to see well over 400hp and torque with the GM stage kits likely to be released at sema this year."
That's not what I've heard. I spoke to quite a few engineers and people within GM, and funding got cut for the GMPP stage kits for the LNF... Now i'm not saying that they aren't coming out but I heard it's pretty much confirmed they aren't coming out this year.
No GM stage kit will give 400hp... Not that it's not possible for the LNF, it is. But for the longevity of the engine the manufacture stage kits won't be putting those kinds of #'s. But we will be able to...
When my SS/SC was getting some warranty work, they gave me a Cobalt Sedan LS. I also noticed that it was quieter and rode better than my SS/SC. But I can tell you that was due to the tires, & suspension. Suspension isn't anywhere as soft, and the tires aren't anywhere as smooth as they are on the regular models... Also the engine and exhaust stock are of course louder than any other model
I do like the first gen IS300's alot. They have a great motor, are RWD, and are a great blend of luxury & sport. What's not to like? And I know a couple people that have modded ones that are pretty fast.
I just prefer 2dr coupes over sedans so what I like is pretty limited...

See I haven't driven a SS/TC yet, just my SS/SC and a LS. If you have on your 2.4L (SS N/A & Sport) the same SS rims but I know they don't come with the same Pirelli P Zero Nero summer performance that the SS/SC's came with then I wouldn't know why they'd be different sounding, than let's say my SS/SC... But yeah I haven't driven the SS/TC so I couldn't say. Just wondering which rims and tires you have on yours...
