Question HID + Projector - HELP / Troubleshooting Advice?

Ok so here is the back story...

Bought a pair of 2nd Gen Halos from a fellow member on here - came with the HID kit and all... had them installed for about a month now but there is a constant problem...

Occassionally the passenger side will turn off... not the rings etc. just the bulb it self will just for whatever reason shut it self off... I thought it was a wiring problem but the connections seem fine... and if I quickly flip to my "high beams" (which are useless with the HID) then back it corrects it self until it does it again...

Its not a constant problem - im not flipping my high beams on all the time but at least once or twice in an hour drive it happens... Drove back from Edmonton the other weekend and it was fine the whole 3 hours then got into Calgary and a block from my house it did it... same with regular road driving...

I am not the most technically inclined here but I have checked the connections and they seem secure (with electrician tape) so I dont know what the problem could be... at first I thought maybe it was over heating and had a trip sensor to turn it off as it was doing it much more regularly before we started hitting below 0 degrees celcius but I honestly dont have a clue....

HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!!

are u running a relay man? cause sometime between like 07-09 GM made it PITA for HID's to be installed and if you install a relay it'll just fry it. When I was getting mine installed we tried for an hour to figure out wat was wrong and why sometimes only one light would come on or we couldn't get the high beams to work and later we discovered the relay got fried so i'm just using the stock relay setup plugs ect. Take this as a warning to anyone u know who wants HID's on possibly 07+ vehicles, alot of automakers are doing this now, the guy who sold me the HID's who i've known for a year now thru another forum and meeting in person several times locally has had this happen multiple times now on newer vehicles they try to install HID's on with the relay, gotta go without the relay as scary as it seems it's not that bad, all it can do is crap out 1-2 tiny $0.01 fuses once in a blue moon.

I dont think this is the problem cause its very sporatic... there is a balast that came with the kit and its wired into the headlight itself then the plug goes directly to the stock harness... I dont know if a fried relay would allow it to still work most of the time with only occassional "hi-cups"

ok, ya i dunno then, maybe as one guy suggested, an aftermarket relay might help, sometimes upping the fuse can help, so i've heard anyway.

ok guys. sometimes this happens and i have to say that if you think about this problem i can suggest it isnt a relay problem. this usually happens when the ballast or the bulb isnt working right. sometimes when the bulb hits its peak temp it will cut out. i had this problem many a times. what i did was switch the bulbs around and see if it would happen with the other bulb. for example if the passenger side is going out, put the drivers hid bulb in on the passenger side and see if it goes out. if it does, the ballast may need replacement. i would check wiring again to be sure your not replacing it for no reason. if the bulb doesnt go out, the bulb is the problem. i have replaced both of mine after purchasing them with the headlamp "First Gen" with ones from JB Power center and they both worked great after. Now that its cold outside. my passenger one now goes out once in a bllue moon......give it a shot. it doesnt hurt

some good suggestions in here, best one i saw was swap the ballasts driver for passenger and passenger for driver and see if it does the same thing on the other headlight, then u know it's the ballast. I can get you a ballast if u need one, might even have a spare which might work but lol you'll have to ask me about that in 2 weeks once i've got everything unpacked.
