Installing Stage Two
Installing Stage Two
Hey guys, I need your thoughts on something.
I am installing Stage 2 (injectors, pulley, belt) on my SS SC on Thursday myself, then driving her from Sylvan Lake to Red Deer (approximately 26km) to have the GM dealership update my tune. Do you think it will be a problem driving the car that far on the existing tune?
Thanks.

install the pulley and belt before then drive to sylvan, then just swap out injectors there. ( Will only take 10 minutes in parking lot) The pulley wont effect your car that much, just dont go heavy into boost
althoug I don't know much about modifying the LSJ cars - I'm inclined to agree with these guys on the injector comments;
your fuel tables are all going to be based on the injector you're currently running - and your car ecm will not be able to compensate for the larger injectors - just swap out the injectors in a parking lot across the street (or directly infront of) the dealership doing your reflash.
but that's just my $0.02

The car will be fine. I guarantee it.
Not sure if u went gm kit or aftermarket stage 2 so is it 42lb injectors or 60's. Not sure about 42's but if u put 60s in without tuning it, the car will start but then die. Me and my tuner wanted to see if the car ran with 2.8/60/belt and no tune...car sounded like a truck for a few seconds then it stalled out.
So in other words, like some already said, do the pulley/belt then drive easy and stay out of boost then when you get there swap the injectors. Swapping 4 injectors should only take 10-15mins.

let me think, hmm stockers are not 42.5s so therefor youll be sending alot mroe fuel in your combustion chamber so threofr your can wash your sylinders, so dont do it bro!!!!!!!!!
Some of you people need to shut up... because you really don't know what you are talking about.
Well, he said he's going to a dealership to get tuned, so I assume that means he bought GM Stg2. The Stg2 injectors aren't that much larger than stock, so you can get away with running them untuned for a while.

agreed, the larger injectors wil initially run rich, but the car will trim out a lot. stay outta boost for sure.
you can drive it the 20 kms at 2k rpm with light load. the 32 lb to 45 lb, is richer, but not near as rich as the power enrich setts the car has.
