Why don't you call it ECOTEC Alberta or something. You'll have limited membership come 2008 when the LSJ gets discontinued.

lsj is the engine that we're using in the cobalts/saturns

 

LSJ is the engine code for the 2.0L supercharged motor that we have!

 

Ok lets understand something here.. Yes the 2.0L was the first SS but now theres 2 SS models including a 4 door version... This club should not just be about the S/C but (All)Cobalts in general!! And to call a club the lsj club is going to get alot of people wondering wtf is this club??

I don't have an S/C but an N/A SS and well there are also some people on here that have Saturn Red Lines (thats not a Cobalt no) but it would be unfare to say no its not a Cobalt so it doesnt belong in a Cobalt club but yes an LSJ club..

We have to remember that we are here to promote and enjoy vehicles regardless of engines etc.. So I don't think alot of N/A owners that don't have the LSJ motor should say have to start up a N/A Cobalt club but neither should A Saturn Red Line Owner start up a SRLine club if they don't have one already...

What Alberta needs is a club that spans across Alberta and allows cars regardless of make and model, a club that promotes good comrademinship(spelling) and is here to enjoy the car!! But if people are going to make a club that is just an LSJ club then stick with that, cudos to you, but I ask you wtf was some srt-4's and a Saturn doing at a Cobalt meet?? hehe

You see my point right? We need a really big mother f!cking car club that gets noticed but also sets a good example that we as owners drive responsible even though we own what we own... (sporty and somewhat pwoerful cars)... Because in the end we end up just classifying eachothers vehicle in a way... What about the Pontiac Pursuit/G5..

Lets celebrate the automoblie damn it... Lets make a car club soo big the car gods will here us once again....

I know know one will care about my little post here just like I threw out the idea of a meet in Red Deer but oh well.. To each is there own right.. I'm just a guy that enjoys cars regardless...

 

If you look further up the page i think you are forgetting some people who can make it,Like ME for instance or is this just for "cool" people .

 

crap i have a course on the 8th now? wtf? have we discussed a time and place? course is in red deer so after the course i can probably head up from there..

 

to be honest nothing is decided. im just trying to get people talking about it so we can pick a time that works for everyone for the next meet.

maybe everyone just pick a weekend or 2 that works for them and we will see what we have.

 

To be honest, we just did a big meet. I am not really to interested in doing another so soon after the first one. There was several months between the first Edmonton meet in April, and the most recent in August.

With September, lots of people are back in school (or the kids are). It is probably better to wait and try do another big meet in the spring. I won't be going down to Calgary on the 8th even if you do meet.

 

hey everyone! well im new to this message board! i have a black ss s/c cobalt and i would liek to meet others that own them! i have been tryin to find people here in edmonton but i guess calgary isnt that far away to meet up and i would be down for meetin up on the 8th Im just curious if some people would be interested in gettin a cobalt club together!

Is this meet just for people who have met up before or what?I've put my name in numerouse times for being able to make it on the 8th or 1st.Just wondering if I should even bother with this anymore.

 

anyone can come to the meets malek....people are just adding their own names to the list as it builds. you dont have to be Approved or anything.

but i think right now were just feeling out what everyone wants to do.
I just brought it up early so that if were gonna do another meet before the snow flies, the more time we have to plan it the better it will be.

so it seems like its a half and half... I say whoever can make it on the 8th come on the 8th and hang out with us calgary folk that can... it doesn't have to be a huge meet... we'd still have a blast!!!! ... I have tons of room for people to crash at my house I have a hide - a - bed a couch, two love seats (if you're little like me you can sleep on it) a trailer that can sleep 6-8 people and a spare bed lol... I live with the parents but they don't care who stays over and how many people there are... especially not on a weekend... they're never home anyways!

We hang out.. go to dinner... cruises..... some go to the track (if weather permits!)
