20 years with no detector and no tickets. It is all about paying attention.

i used to have detectors.....
until i saw a show do a test on a bunch of them.....

alot of the ones they tested you had to basically jump on the brakes 0.05 sec after you hear it tweet or its to late......

not to say some of them dont give you a better chance of lowering your speed, but i rethought spending 300+ on the little gizmos heh

I just feel better having it,especially if Im only doing 10 over the limit,it justs let me know ahead of time,dont need a ticket for going that speed and the added plus being it lets you know if an ambulance is about to enter the intersection you are entering

i have a pair of 20 yr old units that im sure are completely outdated.
timing is everything, and you can attract attention without speeding, and you can speed without attracting attention. experience helps driving tractor trailers and motorcycles.
class 1,6

p.s. we do tons of work for the sheriffs dept in alberta, and they DO hold prejudice about detectors if they catch you with one; no breaks, they throw everything they can at you.

but in answer to your question, certified radio in town here and im sure many other places, sell units that have the sensors in front and rear bumpers, and the interface is in the ashtray or a vent, or some obscure location, very discrette.... if i was getting another, that would be it.

I'm not sure what is better, the concept of that type of detector or the bouncing cartoon girl with the chevy logo on her chest.
