SIR street legals
A little late for this, but is anyone in the S'toon area going to tomorrow's Friday Night street legal drags? I think I am heading out to baseline the car before the mods start.

Hopefully it stops raining. Yeah, gates open at 5 for tech. then racing usually starts around 5:45 to 6:00. It would be good to meet some of you guys and see how the cars run.

I have three points to make
1) too rainy
2) baselines suck in our cars
3) Ingalls
I had an absolutly shitty time at the track the first day, although it was pretty chilly out. Since getting an Ingalls, the times have been pretty good.

Well, if it isnt cancelled, Im still heading out. Baseline, shitty or not is just that, a baseline, or point to start. I have not tried the car at the track yet and want to see what it will do, time means not too much to me. I am looking for what the MPH is. That will tell me what I need to know, especially as I expect traction to be slightly weak...

Well, met Raptors out at the track, good guy, and had some fun with the car.
1- No wheel hop at all when spinning. Zero, nada, zilcho!!
2- Only experienced wheel hop on one first to second gear shift. VERY minimal.
3- Highest mph is 94.24 w/ 2900km on the odo. So there is more as the break in continues. Best time was a 15.1 w 2.64 60' and that was feathering the throttle to control spin. Cold unprepped track.
So it was a good first outing for the balt. before the mods begin.
Still looking forward to meeting some of you guys.

On the cold day out (before Ingalls) I did a 15.1 @ 93.5. 60' was @ 2.43
I've gotten it down to a 14.7 out of town. Still having a few launch problem. .. I'm just scared of snaping axles.

I've been worried about my axels too. I imagine street racing/driving won't be super hard on it... but if they do go, LSD for me! (thats the differential, not the drug lol)

I don't know about that. I've seen a few guys over on the RLF smoke clutches before going through any axles. I really haven't heard of anyone with axle problems over there now that I think about it and some of those guys are out at the track quite often and well below 14 second passes.
I definetly agree that hoping the wheels like that when launching is not good at all for a CV joint though.

Indeed, the clutches get burned more often than axles snapped... but in terms of durability, the axles are actually the weaker part. The clutch is supposed to be good well into the high 200's, with the right driver input.
Either way, when the mods start going hard on the car, both need to be replaced with more durable and appropriate parts.
