Summer Tires Stock on Cobalt SS
Greetings Everyone:
Answer me this why the heck would a dealership sell a Cobalt SS Supercharged in the province of Alberta (If not Canada Wide) with summer tires and not all season radials? You would think that it would be standard. I can understand those people who live in California they don't need all season tires however in Canada it snows. Just another money making sceam from GM to make us purchase winter tires? Your points\opinions?

If I understand what your saying... then the Corvette should also come with crappy low speed rated all-seasons too!
Really, IMO all-season radials suck ass in the winter. I'd tough it out... If you can afford a $25k+ car, you can afford the thousand dollars for winter tires and steelies.... I did, and so did most other guys.

stock pirellis are terrible for winter but if you look closer at the tire it is not a great summer or dry traction tire either. it is actually a ALL SEASON TIRE just to point that out. a terrible all season tire. it does better when it is not winter i would agree. but this is a performance car. I have no problem with getting winter tires and saving my regular performance tires for summer. these tires are far pricier than winter tires to replace and since I wont run them in winter the rims stay clean and salt free and the tires themselves will last longer.

Amen, Its scary sometimes dodging people running bald or summer tires....or sitting behind them at an intersection and only 2 cars get through the whole green turn light because they cant stop spinning.
I tried the pirellis for 1 day to see how they were....and ordered winters that afternoon.

sry, i feel obligated to go thru tire warehouse, as we decal all their vans and cars for powerama. the warehouses are sold out. individual dealers may have rims, but im in no hurry, i have no plans of driving it. it is on stands in the shop, just put the back bumper back on and engine bay is still apart, waiting for JBP to get their **** together, and get me my cold air, that was manufacured wrongly, after waiting 5 months to get it......
i am also contemplating removing the hr springs, as the wife and daughter done care for the performance/cornering at the loss of comfort, etc. i may post them for sale in canada only.

Well considering all the factors in weather from province to province, It would be too difficult to match perfectly to each weather pattern. Besides, each tire is set for a certain speed rating. GM matched the tires to the performance of the car. Which I would rather have.
I dont think GM would scam us by getting us to buy tires because well.. they arent the only people that sell tires. Theres is no reason for them to force us to buy tires unless you are choosing to buy from them. Or theres a GM specific tire that i dont know about.
