your bumper piece, does it go all the way back to the wheel opening, or just the foreward facing area. whered you get it done?
the precut library i have access to isnt a complete front bumper, so i may be forced to wrap my bumper.....dammit.

It covers the hood 24" up, and goes to within about 3" of each wheel well on either side. So in actuality, there is about 3/4" - 1" of exposed paint on the front wheel wells on either side. So it does not offer 100% protection, but it covers most areas that are prone to damage. It covers the whole bottome lip, foglights, and center rib piece around the bow-tie.
Whole thing cost about $550. Comes with a 5-year warranty against peeling or discolouring.
Unless you have experience with this, I wouldn't try it. The owner of the shop, Jurgen, did my car and has been doing this install for about 10 years. It took a lot of elbow grease and about 4 hours to complete. I watched the whole install. It would be near impossible to do it yourseldf. 3M will also only warranty it if it was installed by a trained applicator.
This is where I had it done:

i was just asking, cause i too use X-pel kits and do not like in incomplete coverage for ther cobalt bumper. I seem to be short on time lately, but am forced to find another precut manufacturer, or make one myself. Ive done over 15000 cars with paint protection film, and i guess I'll make a bumper one for myself. I started back in 1985.
PS. the car i saw couldn't have been you, it had a 12" on the hood, no fenders. didnt notice the bumper, which is why i asked. i was just there eatin in da lounge, not really looking at cars. thx for the info on the competition!

I am not too sure how long it goes up the hood. He said 24", but I am not sure. I will have to take a look and see. I can't recall off the top of my head.
The problem with it going the whole way up is that most of it will never get used. There is less hood to hit the farther up the car you go. Most people wouldn't want to pay twice as much for that extra bit of protection. I am sure you can fab up your own piece though. Just lay it out and cut it to fit as you go.
