Portland Street Automotive i think its called has one normally cheap. james new dyno reads a % off what you actually made, so stay away from raven auto

I called a place a few months ago (can't remember which) and I think they said it was $60. I don't know if that's high or low for a single session

^^ or maybe it reads correctly and others read higher.

To the OP, not sure for other dynos but james at raven autosports has one in bayers lake. iirc he charges $60-80 for 3 pulls?

Dont get your heart set on dyno numbers, when i put my 370z on there my first run was 287hp, then he fucked around with it and it read 450hp....numbers can be changed to whatever u want them to be. That being said, what you want it for seems for the right reason. Get a baseline run then see what the power is after the mods. You just have to do another run after the mods with the same dyno, same settings and same weather.

You are lucky you got at least 2 dynos so close. I have to travel to calgary (4hrs away) to put my evo on a dyno..lol.

yup that's it, he doesn't tune, so if you want tuning you need to do it your self or find someone who can. he told me before i could use his dyno to dyno my car. ran on my car on it this yr to get my final numbers before under going the new build.
he was cheapest i found too.
only other ppl around are dyno dave, his dyno is on a trailer, not dead on but its good. then there's troy bennett in the valley, apparently he has one, now this is word to mouth, i never asked him personally, then james with his brand new one, that reads like a %lower then it really should be.
i recommend portland auto and speed

james got a newtop of the line one now it does 1/4 mile pulls as well... he ran his car and compared the 2 he said it him self the new one reads a % lower then the old one, so yes the new ones prob more accurate then the old one, but his prices are high, portland auto and speed their dyno is a mustang inground so it reads pretty accurate

lol, gotta love dynos that do 1/4 mile pulls. There was a kid with a integra at a local meet and he said his car ran 13.6 on the 1/4 mile. We asked questions about the run and then he fessed up and said it was on the dyno that they have in edmonton. Seen him at the drag strip a couple weeks later and he was running high 15's, low 16's. So many things the dyno cant calculate as opposed to the real thing.

yea, i'm not hoping for a specific number. i bought a Turbo XS cutback and wanna see how much difference it's going to make.

lol that would suck. i would hate having to travel that far just for the dyno before and after putting the exhaust on.

i'm not planning on getting a custom tune so that's not a problem. do you recommend portland auto because of better numbers or they're cheaper? or both? lol

Your not gonna gain anything with anymods on the stock tune. The computer will learn it down. The computer is trq based and its only gonna allow for 260hp and 260trq at the crank. Even with a tune, the cat back may give you 3-5 hp since the stock exhaust isnt that restrictive. The most restrictive part in the exhaust system is the downpipe.

yea it sucks, ill probably hit the dyno when i go up to the mountains for a weekend, gotta drive past calgary to get there. Dont really care about the numbers, just wanna see the curve and make sure its good. Should be between 400-450whp

i'm on GMS1, not stock tune. I know it's less aggressive than custom tunes but a few people said it's more mod friendly than stock. I don't want to worry about the warranty so I decided to stick with the GMS1 tune. i'm probably going to get a downpipe in a few months

yea i guess that makes sence with running his car, but still, nothing compairs to the real thing. And yea, we got the evo back in july. When i get back from afghanistan ill have all my bolt ons plus a bigger turbo waiting for me. Been talking to a few guys and i can make about 400-450 on the stock block. What im concerned about is the 1/4 mile. Slight chance ill be running high/mid 11's so ill be required to have a roll over bar, driveshaft loop and a racing jacket. I really dont want a roll bar in the car so i think i might go lower boost and just keep it around 400hp which should put me high 11s, low 12's. As for the CF engine parts, im not going with any jdm stuff. Everything on the car with either be for power or handling.

To the Op, how is your gms1 treating you? I'll be down in halifax around July, we should hit the track together. I havent gone against a sstc with the gms1 yet. My buddy has a custom tune with some bolt ons and he ran a 13.2 a few summers ago.

Ok, didnt know you had gms1. You will gain some power but them gms1 still has a bit of a learn down. I had hp tuners and it was too crazy so i sold it and went back to gms1. I was getting wheel spin in 3rd gear. Too much for a fwd. Youll be better of with the gms1.

If it fits 08-10, it will fit 2011. Mostly every site says 08-10, but as long as its for a EvoX, it will fit all years. Only difference between the cars is the tune and a few other minor things. As for the kit you posted, its pretty much useless for my car. I'll be running a cold air intake, so the front cf piece with the intake scoop is useless. The cf heat shield for the manifold will be usless cuz i might buy a different manifold. That filter is useless since once again im getting a cai. I think the only piece i would use is the spark plug cover for when i take the engine cover off.
