help!

hey guys and gals, looking for some help, driving home today from work and i was almost home and suddenly loss power for a second then regained then lost it again and regained it again than it was fine. about an hour later i started it and it was idling strange, it would rev to about 2000 rpm than drop to about 500, and it kept doing it for about 2 minutes, then it seemed fine, went to drive and it acted like it had no power, after a couple minutes it smoothed out and was fine, any one have any ideas what it might be?

Hmm.... My old ss/sc did that once and Never did find out what it was. As for the strange idle, my car did that all the Time when I came to a stop.

If you have warrenty, take it to the dealer

p.s. Would it kill ya to wave lol.....I drive my gfs yellow 07 lt with black steelies and yellow cobaltss.net decals in the back quarter windows

You do have an intake don't you.... If so your filter could be water logged due to all the water/ melting snow on the roads. Check the filter.

i had the same problem with my 07 ss/sc. it could be one of a couple things. the dealer checked it out and said the airbox was installed improperly. it was revving from 500-3000.it might also be the catalytic converter is plugged up. just got a recall from gm about that. and it could just be that it hunts at idle. mine does that all the time, but they told me that might happen when its modified.and that's all i know. good luck

This time of year could just be some condensation in your fuel system, run some gas line water remover through in your next tank of gas, could clear things right up.

Your intake was better because why???? All intakes are generally the same and mount in the same spot.

Crueman....I would get a k&n oiled filter or a hydro shield to put over your filter.

Thumbs up

the tech's put the car on the computer and the code was a mass air issue, so they looked at the intake, which is a k & n, and seen it was soaked, they dried it out and no more problem, they also found a bad clutch switch which is being replaced tomorrow. had the car out for a good run tonight and no issues at all, so i think it's fixed.https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/imag...lies/smile.gif

Sounds like the maf got wet. Get the hydro shield that was recommended to stop it in the future.
