Possibley Rejoining the Community

I unfortunately recently suffered the loss of my father in a work related accident two weeks ago (the one in Timberlea for anyone who read the paper)

I will be paying off the loan on my 2009 Avenger and then likely trading it in on something under 10k (ending up with no car payment for a few years)

I've been looking at Cobalts again. Mine was an 05 LS. Just wondering if Chevy made any changes to the 2.2L Over the last few years?

Sorry to hear about you loss pat.

In 2009 the 2.2 switched from the L61 to LAP (with the addition of vvt)

Sorry about your loss man. i lost my father a few years ago so i know what your going through. Yes the updated 2.2 lap ecotec engine is 155hp I believe so the hp has increased from the older 2.2 ecotec engine. You should be able to find one for 10 grand easily and a older one say 06-07 for less than that i'm sure.

I see the TQ numbers have decreased.

I sent Oregans and email to see if they have any 2.4's in their inventory anywhere.

I've never heard about the head gaskets going on the 2.4 ecotec chris. I know the old 2.4 twincam engines on the z24 were very bad for that though.

Not getting a Cruze. My goal is to go without a car payment. Most i'll get on a trade for my Dodge is 10 Grand. I'm already taking a loss to pay it off as I owe 14,000 on it right now.

Gotcha, you should be able to find a cobalt or g5 fairly cheap.

Sorry for your loss Pat. If you're looking for a cobalt, I may know a 2009 SS/TC that might be for sale.
