quick question about a ticket

went to antigonish today with some buddys for a carshow and on the way back of course we were driving like arseholes speeding etc and i passed a buddy on a fully paved shoulder and it got called in as a complaint an 20 minutes later when i pulled off the highway cops were waiting on me and issued me a $284 ticket for "failure to pass on the left side of a vehicle"

there is no real evidence lol anyone think i can get out of this one or should i just pay it, the money isnt that big of a deal but could be used on better things

did the cop see you do anything? are you on camera or photo? I would def not let that just slide. cuz I can tell a cop all day you did this and that but them writing you a ticket for something they didnt witness sounds weird. id go ask a lawyer honestly.

Not saying im the best driver im just saying if he did something wrong, man up about it. Hell I got a photo radar ticket in my gf's Cruze, 75 in a 50 zone and I seen the car on the side of the road to late. I told her when it comes in, not if but when it comes in ill pay it. If you want to get a gopro shot, go somewhere out of the public eye.

You'd be surprised whats done these days.

The fact that you're on here asking that question is bizare. If you would of been smart in the first place, you wouldn't be worried.

Its like any ticket, you can waste your time and try to fight it, or just suck it up and admit you're wrong and pay it.

Maybe the other car who called in the complaint has a photo?

There's a difference there... Sure some people will give er now and then on the highway maybe flying by someone on a dotted line or whatever... Then there is being like other people put it 'a douche'. Having a car move over so you can go on the inside of him on the shoulder for a gopro shot is beyond stupid. That highway is one of the WORST in Nova Scotia, and it doesn't need more idiots driving stupidly on it to kill an innocent person.

I guess you're lucky its only $284 ... Guess you're family could be paying for a funeral, and you'd just be another statistic on that highway.

Just my .02 cents worth.

You said you were driving like and ******* people called into the cops they were waiting for so man up and pay the ticket. The only way you will get out of it is if the cop does not show up for court.

I know a guy who got called in for passing on a double yellow. No police to witness the act, and it got thrown out. But be warned, that car will be marked by the police.

Why would anyone just go and pay the ticket? Fight it lol. You always have that chance that the cop doesn't show up or (by some chance you win) you get out of it. If you're proven guilty then so what? There's 300 bucks gone, if not then you save your money and don't get the blemish on your driving record.

lol to those telling me i could kill myself these shoulders are about 3/4 the size of a full lane and the guy moved over, if i cop caught me on the spot i wouldve drove to the courthouse and paid it on the spot to get it off my todo list but since there is no evidence and i got pulled over 20 minutes away im obviously going to fight it to save $300 i would be stupid not to. from what i understand not only does the cop has the show up to court (which these rc's have a bad rep for not showing) but so does the witness whom probably isnt even from town so why would they drive here to testify against me for passing someone?

Ya. Im surprised the cop would pull you over, and give you a ticket, giving he had no proof, and didn't see you. . Most would just give you a warning . But go fight it lol
