Stage 2 Complete

Ok so i went to Raven's today at 8am, got my 60lb injectors in, and spent the rest of the time tuning. My boost gauge went from 80kpa to 130kpa which is 11psi to 18psi. Checked the knock, slight knock...not going to cause a problem, i can get rid of the rest when i get meth. Took 4, 30min trips around town to get the data logs done. Theres still room for improvement which will be done tonight at 7...cars going on the dyno and is getting dyno tuned. So i finish that off and find out what my numbers are. James changed my rev limit to 7000rpm and changed my governer from 250kmhr to 512kmhr not like ill ever go that fast unless im in 5th gear coming down Mt. Everest.

So does anyone wanna go to the dyno with me tonight and then go get some wings?

Correction on my last post....my boost gauge is making out at 140kpa. Car runs awesome, although with winter tires on that dont like this warm weather and rain, all my tires do is spin like crazy...lol. Other then that the car is a badass. For the injector harness clips, labour to install the injectors and to license my car on HP Tuners it came to $364....got a deal on something, not saying what, to respect james wishes. Doing the dyno tonight which is $60 i think...im doing 3 pulls but i need to retune it one more time to just improve everything, not sure what that will cost me

I was hitting like 115-120kpa on mine with my 2.8" pulley, i did have a full exhaust though...but even when i had stock exhaust i never went higher that 120....140Kpa sounds way to high, maybe a clogged cat..just double check

I recently went over to a mechanical boost gauge in psi, it is showing a max boost of 16.5psi, where the electronic version of the stock boost gauge was showing me 17.5psi (115-120Kpa)...I love the mechanical one and now can see what i am boosting in psi vs the crappy Kpa

Also if you re running your winter tires your dyno #'s are gonna be higher than with the stock 18's...less rotational mass to move and generally a lighter wheel/tire combo...my buddy gained 13-15whp when he went from his 18" summer rims/tires to his 16" winter rims and tires

expect about 250-300 for the tune. and unless you know someone who has a shop and dyno, expect about 70-100/hr

yah the 140kpa doesnt seem right to me at all. The max I was hitting was 115-120 until I had my clogged cat which brought it up to 140. If you have a bad cat you will want to get that fixed asap so you dont run into even more problems.

yah me to, he will be running the winter tires so his numbers will be a little higher. I would still get it checked by an exhaust shop just ti make sure the exhaust is flowing.

I agree on the hp but I think the torque will be lower. His first one will be good but the second and third run will suck due to heat soak.

sorry...140kpa was in N when i was reving it up for my friend....120 was the correct amount on boost. I do have winter tires but its 16" rims instead of 18" rims but the tire is thicker...so they are the same size around. He adjusted my fan speed to help keep things cool. But i agree with u chad, chances r my 2nd and 3rd pull will be bad. Everything on the computer looks good. Chris would you give it a rest. the motor wont blow so keep quiet...i dont know why u make comments, no one likes you on here...we all think you are fucked up for dating girls from jr. high school that are underage and think you know everything, but in reality u dont know as much as you think you do about cars. For example...calling james up and asking him to build your Cobalt LS....not SS...LS...a 1200hp daily driven car.....riiiiiight....so shush.

The tires on mine are the exact same diameter, higher sidewall with the 16's and it feeels way faster with the ugly winters than the summers, I know that part of this is just the colder weather but, over all the 16's will dyno higher than the 18's even though they are the exact same height, due to the fact that the rotational mass is greater with the larger diameter rims.

I am gonna say heat soak wont be as big an issue just becuase its colder out than in the summer, but ya the 2nd and 3rd runs should be a tad lower

ahahaha let us know what it dynos. I knew the 140 had to be a mistake. Yah the car seems a ton faster with the 16 inch wheels and as Quicksilver said his friend dynoed a lot higher with them on. You will notice it next summer when you put your summer tires back on.
