Test Drove ECO Cruze.

my gawd I loved it. Was really concerned that the lack of HP would be a deal breaker but the TQ really compensates for that. Completely different car than my old 2.2 LS Slobalt

They ran some numbers and didn't exactly offer me what I wanted for my Dodge on a trade in and they wernt willing to talk better numbers unless I was going to make a deal last night.

I'm waiting for Steele Ford to get a 2012 Focus in and I'm going to test that out and then make a decision.

Slowest most boring Cruze? pretty sure all the 1.4L turbos have the same numbers...other than tq

Its Lighter than all the other Cruzes, has tuned Suspension and after a Trifecta Tune will be pushing close to the Same numbers as a 2.4 l cobalt.

Sorry. Deleted my post. I had my Cruzes backwards. I thought the ECO was the 1.8. I was wrong

That may be the 1 in like hundreds of thousands produced lol? It wouldn't be enough for me to not buy one.

Who'd you deal with and which dealer? I'm going in to look at a new ride tomorrow and throw around some numbers, and the Cruze is on the list.

While the interior is very nice compared to the cobalt. I wont trade my 2.4 for a cruze.

the eco is the one i was most impressed with. the things they did to get the weight down are all pretty damn cool. i dont see why they all cant have those mods. the active shutter in the grill is a cool idea, few more cars using it now. the price on the one i looked at was pretty good, about 18.5Kusd.

i almost bought a ECO cruze, they are a nice car, but honestly wasnt no where near worth what they sell for...
i didnt find much differance then driving my ex 2.2 06 cobalt, compared to the ECO 1.4 turbo cruze, the cruze has ok low end tq but as soon as the car started to go it felt like the car just flat line in power and tq

I cant fault a car for something like that unless it's a common problem.

Tis but a flesh wound.

I keep getting the urge to go out and test drive some cars just to see what they offer. I don't forsee myself in a Cruze. IMO, they're ugly and way overpriced.

lol over priced?

When I bought my 2005 Cobalt LS brand new it was a 21,000$ car

Don't talk to me about the Cruze being over priced.

I dealt with Oregans. I didnt even get a chance to push them down closer to invoice price. But when I go back by the end of the month I have a plan and some numbers that if they don't match i'll walk out.

well i priced a fully loaded cruze at 21-22k, while i remember seeing an lt2 balt that had nothing extra besides a sunroof for 18k...sooo i think the cruze is well priced for everything it has. i just think they should have kept the lnf cobalt though.

I thought I got ripped off buying my 07 LS 3 years ago used with 30K on it for 13,000.

that wasnt a fully loaded cruze. Fully loaded with nearly every option on an LTZ they will hit 27k. Now thats pricey for this car! And honestly will get you into much nicer cars. Granted the dealer might cut you a decent deal. But to have a 27k price tag in this field for a normal non performance model is a bit steep.

Yup, I just optioned out a truly fully loaded Cruze LTZ and it came in at just under $28k. That's grossly overpriced. You could have a decently equipped GTI or Si for that price and get a lot more for your money. Even a base WRX is $2k cheaper than the Cruze at that point. So you're paying about $30,000 out the door after tax title and license. That's $10 grand more than what I paid for my SS/SC brand new.

For what it is, and what it was meant to replace, it's overpriced.

At that price you can honestly step into much nicer cars. Economy performance or even entry level luxury cars.
