I know some of u dont wonder out of the north east thread so i thought i might post an update here. Got my car tuned to the limits of what i want until i built the engine up. Mods r in my sig. Today i got the car tuned so my AFR is 11.9, 25* of timing, no knock at all...didnt see any during the tuning process. After 4 pulls on the highway IAT2 were at 149* Also changed my boost in 1st gear. Between idle and 4000rpm its at 75% and goes up. At 5000rpm its 100% boost. So im at 20psi of boost. Idling the car was messed up...thought we fixed it last time but there was another table that james messed up. Triming couldnt get any more perfect. its at 0.8% so my mpg is really nice. My rev limiter is at 7200rpm.
So yea ill be dynoing the car the first week of Sept. so ill see what it does. But this is as far as im pushing the engine on stock internals. From what we seen from the IAT2 and no knock we can go more agreesive with the tune but i dont want to risk it. 11.9 is the semi-safe area and 25* is where the LSJ starts to stop making power and start raising the risk of blowing up..lol.
Now im gonna have to learn how to launch at the track all over again. I went friday and i staged at 2000rpm...let the clutch out nice and easy then floored it...keep in mind i was at 40% boost in 1st. No tire spin. Since we put the boost up i did a pull from the dig...60% throttle, had no tire spin and it felt the same amount power as i did when i was at the track doing 100% throttle in 1st. Then did a second pull at 68% throttle and the tires spun abit. I love my car :P

That's sweet. Congrats. I'll be interested in seeing what kinda numbers you put down.
I'm kinda new to the whole supercharged thing so this may be a stupid question, but.. Superchargers run off the crank so how are you adjusting when/how much boost your making just by tuning? I was under the impression that you'd have to change pulleys in order to do that.

thanks for the comment. Yes pulley's change the boost level. However u can use hp tuners to take away the boost if need be. Not sure how the program does it cuz i dont know much about tuning. All i know is what i want in the car and my buddy sets it up for the way i want it. I believe timing is pulled to reduce the boost and depending where in the table (rpm range) will determine how much boost i have. For example...i am running 25* timing max...so thats my max power overall. Say at 3000rpm i want only 75% boost. Well i would run only 75% of the timing i advanced the engine from stock. And if i want full boost by 5000rpm, in that same table i would set 5000rpm and above to 25* of timing which gives me all my power. And the way my tune is set. Everything from idle to 4000rpm is 75% boost. Between 4000 and 5000rpm its quickly increasing...so at 5000rpm i have full power. Some people like 100% boost all the way through 1st gear. Some like it set to 50% through 1st. Depends what the person likes. I'm pretty sure thats how it goes...im still new to tuning, im trying to learn how it works as my buddy is tuning it.

beats me...lol. Last dyno i did was with M62 - 2.8 pulley, 60lb injectors, meth, h/e, 2 step colder plugs, cai and a fucked up tune..hit 243whp 220trq. Im defently 300+whp now and hoping around 290trq. We could defently feel a increase between the TVS tune and header,dp,exhaust. And then we felt a difference between all the parts installed and the tune today. Probably around a 10-15whp increase today. Car was running 10.5afr and then we changed it back to 11.9 and added 1* of timing
It's nice to see all these SS/SC's breaking the 300whp mark. I bought Jerren's with the stage 2, h/e, vibrant header and dp, corsa 2.5" catback, stg 1 colder plugs and an injen intake and I'm hoping I can hit the 240-250whp mark. Time will tell i suppose. Once I get it back from the body shop I'm hoping to get it out to a show with an on-site dyno. I planned on taking it to South Shore In Motion but broke it before I got a chance.
yea u should be able to hit that mark, as long as the tune is good. Cant remember much about that car..lol. Dyno numbers r all good but now im addicted to drag racing. Trying to hit the 12's mark..lol.

Cant wait to see dyno results man.....I cant wait till spring so i will be fully bolted with an hp tune. Im gonna shoot for 330whp/375wtq. If i dont get that then it will be bye bye stock turbo....lol
Jerren if i dont hit 300whp on the dyno im saying bye bye to the cobalt and buying a 350z..lol
Rent is $860 (Florence pays $350 of that). Unless u buy a house its not that much difference. We were paying $675 for a smaller apartment in halifax...bigger place now in a better area. Taxes r only 5% but the actual price on things is more so it evens out. Gas is ALOT cheaper here. some places its .89 for reg....around .95 for prem. They also have a few stations here with 94 octane..lol.
I still have a small coolant leak in the car...might be 2 different spots...one is the banjo bolt (got a new one coming in) but there is a grey part beside the black pump...dont know what it is but i think that is leaking coolant too. Guess its been doing that since i got into the accident in Fredericton and the dealership never fixed it. Although i cant tell if its just cooling running from the banjo bolt down the side of the engine and not drying up off this part. Going to check it out afterwork today. Either way its not making any difference....IAT2 stayed low, no knock so its all good. Just have to top up my coolant every 2-3 weeks. Before i put the header,dp,exhaust on i was running about 8.2L/100km in the city, installed the header,dp,exhaust it jumped to 11.5-12.0L/100km in the city...because my trim was 25%. Now that its tuned and the trim is at 0.8% ...im seeing 7.4L/100km in the city...pretty damn good if u ask me. Guy at work challenged me to a drag race at the strip when i come back from suffield. $50 we r betting. He has a Stage 1 SRT-4...no clue what parts r included tho, dont know much about them cars...i know they r fast but hopefully i can get some track time in before the race.

I was at 287 when I converted from my m62 tune with a 2.85 and 60's. You'll get there. Hell, I'm making well over 300 right now with a way conservative tune, and the stock header. I saw that you shot me a pm but my box was full. Send it again when you get the time. And I'll be waiting for your results.
And that drag race, even if he gets you off the line, by the 1/8 mile you should catch and fly past him..., unless you're asleep or something.lol

yea i have no idea what tire can fit on a rim, dont know how much size difference it can change. If it cant then it looks like i have to buy some new rims next spring/summer.
