Noob here, with a quick question for everyone.

Anyone know anything about a black 2005 supercharged cobalt for sale at Zimmer Wheaton in Kamloops? Bowtie is removed, red hose sleeves under the hood as well as the piece connecting to the spark plugs (can't remember the name) is painted red. Just figured you all seem to be fairly up to date on each others cars and someone might know about this one.

From the carfax I was given it looks like it came from Red Deer and was then in Merritt before ending up at the dealership.

 

If you're from Pen, maybe you've seen me around.

for that price there are quite a bit of selection for 2005

 

133k for 9k? ouch, make the drive for this one, or at least call to see whats up with it.

I was actually kind of wondering what a good price would be for 05+ s/c. The one I linked, they dropped the price to 7700, but the km's still seemed pretty high.

That 07 looks nice kzak104, to bad there weren't more pictures.

There anything dangerous about a bank repo car, or is it just plain ol' person couldn't pay for it and the bank took it / sold it for remainder owing?

 

I paid 12,000 for my '07 a year ago, had 32,000km on it

The one on autotrader that I linked? There's also a set of wheels bagged in the car, but I'm not sure what kind they are.
From the lowering etc. done on the car it does make me think it may have been driven hard. Not to say that it automatically means mods = rough on their cars, but does make me think about it.

There's also a black 07 at the same dealer that has the red one kzak linked that has just a normal cobalt spoiler. Looks a lot like a base model 'balt.

the black one obviously has 2.2L rims. I'd say stay away from it because there are so many red flags from the pictures alone. There are gonna be tons of surprises once you live with it...

 

Squintz, yeah we'll have to have a tiny meet and I'll borrow my gf's car just so we can call it a cobalt meet

So just to note, the red one that was linked has 150k km's on it.
But this one at the same place has "only" 119k so I'm thinking about it. Is it strange that it doesn't have the typical s/c spoiler? Seems odd.

ya id say they just swapped rims but not to sure because with the seats the radio bezel should have the heated seat buttons but it dosn't so i think they just did a motor swap or something idk but stay away from that one.
Plus it does not have a sunroof and in 05 on the ss/sc's that was a standard option so thats not a true ss just a 2.2 with a motor swap and the cosmetic kit

 

just throwing it out there i have a 2007 cobalt ss stage 2 supercharged with 100k kms. Slotted and drilled rotors all around , hid lights and all around tint and 18' drag rims with pirelli all seasons and stock ss wheels with pirelli snow tires for 9500.... and i have transferable warranty until 2013.

 

See, it's posts like these and the others above that make me glad I checked here before going all out on the cars I found lol.

Thanks again to everyone for the info. Not sure what I'll do now, there's the black '07 ss/sc in Langley that I emailed about, but they're pretty horrible with their email responses so I'm shying away from them too now (Same place that has the red one above).

Guess I'll just keep my eyes open for the right one at the right price.

I know this original post is old now... but for the record I was in Kamloops today and looked at this same black 05 ss/sc. Soon as the salesman came walking over he flat out told me not to bother looking at the car and that he would rather talk someone out of buying it than making a sale on it. Apparently there's a whole whack of stuff wrong with it.
